I am the night and the forest
I wonder what will creep and crawl tonight
I hear chirping of crickets in the undergrowth
I see the bats flutter across the night sky
I want the crisp water to overflow its banks and be lapped at with thirsty tonguesI am the night and the forest
I pretend the sun will never rise
I feel the dew lay and be soaked up by the lush green leaves
I worry all silence and peace will soon end
I cry for those that are hunted underneath my wing of darknessI am the night and the forest
I understand that all happens for a reason
I say that the warmth is not the sun but security
I dream that this forest will replenish and grow
I hope that soon the moon and stars will shine like magnesium burningI am the night and the forest
