What's going on? "Tylr? What are you doing?" I asked. I could feel the shakiness in my voice.
"Get in my truck, or he dies." he said.
"No please Tylr. Don't do this." I pleaded.
"I said, get in the truck or he dies. You don't want your precious uncle dying, do you?" he asked. I shook my head no.
"That's what I thought. Get in the truck. Now!" he said louder. I slowly walked over to his truck. I tried to open the door, but my hands kept shaking. I slid into the front seat. I heard a loud bang. I turned my head back and I instantly felt tears rushing down my face. He shot my uncle anyway.. What was the point of even getting in? I glanced at Cole's door. Did he hear the gunshot? I saw something taped to his door. I didn't see it when I walked in his room earlier. I squinted my eyes.
"Your turn
-Tylr"
Your turn? What? Tylr came into the truck and started driving off. Cole came out of his door as soon as we left. I hope he finds the note on his door. If he doesn't, I'm in big trouble.
"So, how are you Charlotte?" he asked. I gave him a dirty look. I'm not talking to him.
"Are you going to answer me?" he pulled the gun out and faced it towards me.
"I'm great. How about you?" I said as cheerfully as I could. I have to be really careful at what I say and do now. I already got shot once and was lucky enough to survive. I don't know how lucky I'll be next time.
When we reached a red light, he pulled a cloth out of his back pocket. What the hell is that? "Take this and smell it." he said. Why the in the world would I smell a cloth that came from his back pocket? I took the cloth from his hands. It sort of felt like a book cover. It was dry and the smell was really powerful. I didn't have it anywhere near my nose and I could still smell it.
"Would you hurry up already? It smells like strawberries. Who doesn't like strawberries?" he said. Umm, maybe I don't. He pointed the gun back at me. Is this how my lifestyle is going to be for a while now? Having guns constantly pointed at me? I brought the cloth up to my nose. My world got blurry and my ears started ringing. Blackness crept up next.
I didn't know what exactly happened, but I was somewhere, tied to a chair. I don't know how long I was out, but I really hope Cole found the note.
"Look who finally decided to wake up! Was the chloroform too much for you, or should I dial it down a bit?" he asked.
"It's fine," I said. I didn't know what else to say. I wanted to live. If I gave him a negative response, it could mean the end of me. My life really only depended on Cole and my choice of words right now.
"Good. We leave in a day to go to the next location. Hope your ready. We leave to a new location either everyday or every other day," Tylr said. He walked across the room and went up the stairs. Should I try to escape? Should I just wait for Cole to find me? What if he doesn't find me? If he doesn't find me, I'll be dead.
A few minutes later, he came back down. "I have a partner leaving the notes around. He said that Cole found the first one and he's on his way here. We have to leave now." He grabbed the cloth from before off of a table. My arms were tied to the chair, so I couldn't reach up to take it.
He walked up to me and placed it over my nose and mouth. I didn't even have to inhale it. The chemical did the work on it's own.
I woke up in a different building, in a bedroom. The building looked oddly familiar. I just couldn't think of where I remember it from. I was untied and I could freely move around. I stood up and wobbled a little bit, but didn't fall. I looked at the bed. Blood stains. I checked myself and I wasn't bleeding anywhere. At least I hope I wasn't... A picture flashed through my head. This was the building where Cole was kept before! I remember the blood stains on the bed and walls and I also remember where the note was hidden. Maybe I could try and leave him a note without Tylr or his so-called "partner" finding it. I walked up to the door and tried opening it. Locked. There was no lock on my side to open it. The doorknob had been switched so I couldn't get out. I looked around the room to try and find a pencil or at least something to write with. I came up with nothing. All the drawers were empty. I got down on my knees and checked under the bed. I thought I was going to pass out. Under the bed there was a bloody corpse with a missing rib cage.
