"josh! where are you taking me!"

"ouch, j that hurt."

"stop pulling my arm already!"

josh's plan apparently involved lots of arm pulling, walking, and lots of complaining from tyler.

"where are we going!?"

"joshua william dun so help me god if you don't tell me whe-" tyler was cut off by josh's lips firmly pressed against his.

"tyler"

"yes josh?"

"can you shut up? just for a few more minutes? i have surprise for you." the younger one huffed then nodded, letting josh drag him to wherever.

"josh...why did you take me to an animal shelter?"

"i wanted a kitty"

"josh! you know we have to discuss things like this! you can't just up and drag me out of the house to buy a fricking cat!"

"but babe," josh said, dragging out the 'a', all in hopes for approval.

"just think about it! while i'm at work and you're all home alone and lonely, if we adopt a kitty, you won't be alone anymore! plus, they're really nice cuddle buddies."

tyler huffed and rolled his eyes, "fine, i guess we can go look at the cats."

"correction, adopt." josh smirked, praising himself for the win of a brand new kitty.

the boys walked through the double glass doors, looking at the front view of the lobby. dogs on leashes with their new owners, cats meowing in crates, and a huge wall filled with treats, collars, leashes, and big, fluffy beds.

josh looked to his right and saw the huge sign with the words: ADOPT A CAT HERE! written in big, red, bold lettering. "baby look! kitties!" josh exclaimed, running towards the door as if he was six years old again.

tyler on the other hand walked into the room, so 'happy' to be there.
he finally caught up to josh, who's face was pressed against the glass, drooling over the various breeds of cats. tyler drifted off into space while josh was in kitty heaven.

his daydreaming got cut short when he heard the biggest gasp he's ever heard come from josh's mouth. "oh. my. god! ty! look at how beautiful she is!!"

the cat was small, black and white. her eyes were two different colors: a yellowish green and a hazy blue.

tyler, being the overprotective, much sanitary, and cautious person he was, carefully read over the information attached to the side of the window.

"can we please get her? pretty please?"

"c'mon, ty, how can you say no to this cute face?" josh begged, voice strong with the classic baby voice.

"well, i got to admit, she is pretty adorable. and she's spayed, ooh, ooh! and she's housetrained!"

"so is that a yes?" josh hinted, knowing he picked out the purrfect cat.

"yes, j, its a yes." tyler pretended as if he didn't care about her, but in the inside, he was jumping for joy and so excited about his new furry friend.

josh was also jumping for joy, just not mentally. he was bouncing off of the walls and exclaiming 'yes's!' and 'yay's!" over and over again.

"c'mon joshy, lets go sign the adoption papers and have them grab her."

both boys were now settled in the car, tyler in the driver's seat and josh in the passenger's, twirling a mouse toy around, teasing the kitten. the trunk was filled with lots and lots of toys, many cans of cat food, a crate, followed by a nice cat bed, fit for a queen (as josh put it.)

clearly, he wanted the best for his new pet:

oh he is so lucky tyler loves him. so fucking lucky.

"c'mon tj, don't act like you don't like her!"

"i'm not acting." tyler deadpanned.

"you like her, don't you, tyler?"

"me? like a cat? psh, you're out of your mind!"

josh inched the cat closer to tyler's face, "you like her, you like her a lot."

at this point, tyler's face was beet red from keeping in a big smile.

tyler finally bursted, not being able to keep in his feelings any longer

"what are we gonna name her!? god j! she's so cute! oh i can't wait, i can't wait, i can't wait!"

"I KNEW IT!" josh giggled, even more stoked to the fact that tyler loves her.

"we need to name her!" tyler said, eyes popping out of his head.

"hmm, i don't know." josh was looking around the still-parked car, looking for ideas until his eyes met with tyler's zip-up jacket.

"why don't we name her zipper?"

"why zipper?"

"i don't know, it just suits her."

"well i don't see why not, welcome to the family, zipper!" the younger yelled, joy radiating from him.

"okay, on a serious note ty, can we get going, we've been sitting here for over 20 minutes."

"oh shit - i mean shoot - gotta baby proof my words! my bad!"

and that right there folks, is the beginning of a very, very interesting ride to "parenthood."
