For: ellet1girl CatWhiskersMeow, this one is for both of you since you had exactly the same request :)Darkness had swallowed into my world, to the point that I couldn't remember what it was to be in the light. Everything was noisy cold and smelly. I sat in some sort of box, clanking as it steadily moved upward. Up and up and up. My mind was not more than a fuzzy mess something felt off, like something was stolen from me. I threw all my effort into focusing on one thing. But then realised I couldn't remember a thing. Not even my name.
I moved to the center of the dark metal box and sat down, pulling my legs under me forcing myself to breath slowly. My heart was pumping fast but I managed to keep my breathing at a steady pace.
Then the box came to an aprubt halt. A bright light shone into my face and I brought up my hand to cover my face from the light. As soon as the light faded I looked up to a group of boys.
I backed up against the wall my body filling with anxiety.
One of the boys jumped into the box. I pressed my back against the wall, not daring to move.
He took a step forward and I was totally freaking out.
"Don't be scared, I'm not gonna hurt you." The boy said taking another step towards me. His voice was somewhat soothing.
"My name is Thomas." He spoke, still getting closer to me.
"W-where am I?" My voice was not more than a raspy whisper.
"In the glade, you're safe here. I promise." Thomas said.
I somehow got the feeling that I could trust him, so I did.
"I-I can't remember anything." I started to tear up.
"Hey hey don't cry." He placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder.
"It was the same for all of us, everyone wakes up in the box without memories and in a few days you'll remember your name, until then we'll call you greenie." He explained.
"Why does it take so long?!" A big build boy with weird eyebrows yelled.
I backed up against the wall even more, apparently not everyone around here is so nice as Thomas.
"Just give us a minute, alright!" He yelled back up.
I was a little calmer now, and noticed that Thomas was actually pretty handsome.
He looked about 5"11 and had dark brown hair, his eyes were a dazzling shade of brown and the side of his face was covered with cute little moles.
Then I realized that I didn't even know what I look like.
"T-thomas?"
"Yeah?"
"What do I look like?" He stared at me for a good moment before responding.
"You're really pretty." A light blush on his cheeks.
I looked down and pulled my legs to my chest, hugging my arms around them.
He settled himself next to me and placed the back of his head against the cold metal of the box.
It was silent for a few minutes. It gave me time to think, think about why I'm here, where I came from, what my name is, if I should trust these people.
But none of my questions got answered, according to Thomas nobody knows.
And that freaked me out, I was slightly panicking again.
I wanted so badly to remember something, my parents, brother, sister, friends, dog, even a neighbour would be enough, but nothing.
Nothing came back to me, only empty faces stared back at me.
A tear rolled down my cheek and I quickly wiped it away with my sleeve hoping Thomas hadn't seen it.
"Please don't cry" he whispered bringing me closer to him. I cuddled up into his chest.
It felt warm and safe, exactly what I needed.
I looked up to see that all of the boys had gone. It was only Thomas and I.
"I'm scared." I whispered with a shaky breath.
"You don't have to, I'm here for you." he responded stroking my hair.
I smiled at him. And realized it was the first time I smiled since I came up here.
"I like it much better when you're smiling." His lips curled up into a smile.
"I like it when you're smiling too." I giggled.
"Let me get you out of this box okay?" He asked. I nodded.
He held his hand out for me and pulled me up without any effort.
He put a hand on my back to prevent me from falling.
"Here" he said handing me a rope.
I grabbed it with both hands and with a little help of Thomas I managed to get out of the box.
Thomas was out in a second, so I didn't need to help him.
I took a deap breath and looked at my surroundings. For so far I could see were fields, sheds, trees and walls.
Wait walls? I turned around and noticed there were four of them. Four walls closing me in.
"T-thomas." I started to panick again.
Were we trapped in here? Why are we trapped?
"What's wrong?" Thomas worriedly asked, he placed an arm around my waiste.
"Why are we trapped?" I asked.
"I... don't know, but the runners are looking for a way out."
"The runners?" I repeated.
"I already told you too much, tomorrow Alby will give you the tour and all you're questions will be answered." He told.
I nodded and let out a deep sigh.
"Where do I have to go now?" I asked.
"You're not going anywhere, you're staying with me and I'll keep you safe."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
