"Hand over all your weapons."

A chill ran through her body, bringing with it the cold, emotionless killer that she held inside of her. She looked at the unknown man through dead eyes, intense anger burning through her veins, wrapping her heart in a cloak of imminent destruction. Her finger hovered over the trigger of her crossbow by her side, as if toying with him.

"No."

Her voice was commanding, threatening and stone cold. She cocked her head to the side, a blank expression on her face. She was challenging them, but was her poker face enough to deter them? Could she lift her weapon before they pulled their triggers? Or would he call her bluff?

"How about we start with something easier? My name is Dwight," He offered, a short laugh eminating from his lips. He scanned her, up and down, "Where are y'all from?"

Again, Lauren spoke.
"We don't have a group."

"Well," He said, dragging out his words, "I know for a fact that you're lying, because I have seen with my own eyes that van you came in. Survivors, huh? That's a cute name."

Lauren mentally cursed Ethan for painting that name on every single vehicle in Greenview. She faltered for a second, fearing that they had taken the others.

"So I'll ask again," He said slowly, "Where are y'all holed up?"

Lauren didn't answer, neither did Rachel or Jo. Dwight shook his head, an almost sarcastic sigh left him. He waved his gun about, a lobsided smirk on his face.

"You see," He started, "I knew y'all would come back for your friends. So I set up a lil' trap, and here you are. You can go if you tell me what I want to know, oh, and obviously give me your weapons."

Silence fell and Dwight looked noticeably irritated, he pressed his lips into a thin line and muttered something under his breath.

"I'll give y'all to the count of three."

She couldn't give up the location of the Survivors, who knows how many of them there were. They would take everything that they had made for themselves, they would kill her family. She couldn't let that happen. It fell onto her shoulders to keep them safe and she wouldn't fail them now, she couldn't.

"One."

She lifted her crossbow just an inch, her finger on the trigger. She angled the sights towards his foot and held herself.

"Two."

Dwight waved the gun between the three of them, obviously enjoying that fact that he had control over the lives of others. Lauren knew that he was no leader, he was mearly someone elses pawn, someone much worse.

"Three."

Dwight fired just as Lauren did, she heard a body fall and she whipped her head to the side, her heart lurching in her chest.
