Not Today - Twenty One Pilots

Rose POV

The moment we entered the fair Alice already pulled Josh away of us and ran up to the cotton candy stall. Josh came back with two big cotton candies so Tyler and i could also share one.

we were strolling over the fairgrounds when Alice suddenly stopped

"The haunted house!!!" she yelled excited "can we go to the haunted house?"

"sure, you can go" i answered her so she got in line when she turned around

"Joshy... can you go with me, cuz... otherwise i will be scared..." she whined

"uhm.. yeah sure" he said and got in line with her

"Joshy... can you go with me..." i imitated Alice's voice "gosh, she just acts like a kid..." i said irritated

"it's okay honey, we can go to the game stalls if you like?" Tyler said softly while he wrapped his arm around me and guided me away from them

we had a lot of fun and Tyler just won a stuffed animal for me when we were interrupted by two people that i, unfortunately, call my friends. i turned around and looked right in the worried eyes of my boyfriend, Josh

He had his arm wrapped around Alice in a protective way,

Alice...

Alice was staring directly at me with anger in her eyes

"where were you?!" she began to yell

"I was worried sick about you guys?!"

"You can't just walk away, we were looking for you this whole time!!!"

"Alice... i-" i began to stutter

Alice is my best friend, she is always there for me, I've never seen her mad at me

"i decided that, when you guys were having fun at your ride, we could also have fun at the game stalls" tyler defended me. "Let's just not fight over this and get over it" he said while he took my hand and walked away, josh and Alice followed.

"ugh, why did i even invite Alice..." i said to tyler, very irritated but trying to keep my voice down so they don't hear it

"why not, honey, it's fun" he smiled to me while he wrapped his arm around my shoulders

"If you call walking down a fair in pairs and not talking to each other for the whole night fun" i sighed

"Well, you're talking to me... and at the game stalls and ... "

"Yes i get it Tyler!" i said annoyed "But still, my best friend's been flirting with my boyfriend this whole evening" i sighed

"Oh yeah, right.... I'm sorry. You and josh can continue together. I won't stop you." He said and he stopped holding hands

"No that's n-" I whisper shouted to him but he cut me off

"I'm getting some... Uhm... Food or something, you guys have fun in the mirror house" he yelled to us as he walked away.

I sighed as I turned to my friends.

"Are you guys gonna come with me or what?" I tried to fake a smile

"Yeah... You can go, we will stay here until Tyler gets back" Alice said and immediately continued eye fucking with josh

I sighed and decided to still go to the mirror house and have some fun.

After bumping into some glass walls, I finally got through the maze of mirrors. I decided to go back to my friends , because they're probably waiting for me so I started walking. The moment I turned at a corner it felt like my heart stopped beating because of what I saw.

Josh...

And Alice...

...kissing?!...

My boyfriend and my best friend?!

I turned around and leaned against the back of a stall with my eyes closed, breathing heavily and trying to calm down. The moment I opened my eyes again I was greater by the worried eyes of Tyler.
He was holding some corndogs in one hand and with the other he leaned against the stall and looked me in the eyes.

"What's wrong honey?" He asked worried.

"I- I just saw Josh and Alice" I stuttered still out of breath

"Yeah... What's wrong with that?"

"Because they... They were kissing..." I said and closed my eyes again. I felt a tear running down my cheek

"Josh... You..." I heard Tyler mumble something while he walked away.

I opened my eyes again and saw Tyler standing a few feet away with his back facing me, obviously angry

'Tyler?..." Asked worried

He turned around and walked back to me. He leaned with his hands against the stall and his face came close to mine

"I just want you to know, that... That I would never do such things to you... I don't know why josh just doesn't see it because.... Because you are... The most amazing girl I've ever met." He said while he looked me in the eyes.

"What am I gonna do when I see them again..."

" you don't have to do anything, I will be here for you" he said as he grabbed my hand and walked over to the couple we were talking about.

We went on with the night like nothing happened but I still held on to tyler like he was my only safety.

We stopped at the ferris wheel. We waited in line until we could hop on.
Inside were two couch thing-y's where you could sit and I, obviously sat next to Tyler.
Josh and Alice took a seat across of us and immediately got comfortable.

The wheel started spinning slowly and I decided that I could play the game just as well as they were doing. So I sat back a little and leaned my head on Tyler's shoulder. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and I started playing with the hem of his sweater while I looked him in the eye.
He stared at me confused but I told him to just play along with my eyes. I looked across me and saw Josh tense up. I couldn't help it but to smile a little.

"The view is amazing" Alice said, not knowing about the awkward situation.
"They say, if you kiss the love of your life at the top of the wheel, it will bring good luck" she said while looking outside.

We got higher and higher and the view got even better while my heart started to beat even faster

Kissing the love of your life...

You're almost at the top...

"Just do it" the voice in my head whispered

I tilted my head towards Tyler and I came close to kiss him. I could feel the eyes of my boyfriend burning in my back but I didn't care. The moment his lips touched mine all my worries melted away..
