I went to put my things into Emma's basket when I noticed a handful of pregnancy tests. I didn't know what to say, so I just awkwardly stood there for a moment.

"Slighly awkward, but you can talk, you know." Emma winced when she first realised that I had noticed, but put herself together very quickly.

"So, you think you're pregnant?" I asked, looking and sounding like a complete idiot. Why else would she have boxes of pregnancy tests lined up in her metal shopping basket.

"My mom thinks I am, which I'm probably not, but I'm paranoid now." Emma told me.

"If you are-" I began before being interrupted.

"If I am, it won't be having your bedroom. It won't be replacing you or Henry. You may be sleeping on the floor of a nursery at the moment, but I was planning on giving your room a makeover soon." Emma explained.

"Does Killian know?" I asked.

"No, so don't tell him. Pinkie swear that you won't tell anybody." Emma put down the basket and pointed her little finger towards me. I did the same and wrapped mine around here.

"I promise." I smiled.

"If this was Henry, he'd be making up a name for our secret. He's probably come up with 'operation cygnet' or something." Emma said.

"That's too obvious." I frowned.

"Let's just call it operation nothing and not talk about this until we know it's really something?" Emma suggested.

"That sounds good to me." I smiled and nodded. Emma picked up the basket and made her way towards the till.

"Damn, there's Archie." Emma ducked behind a shelf, pulling me down with her. Emma began to fill the basket with random things to hide the tests. Cleansing wipes, paracetamol, makeup, shampoo, bandages. After a layer or pointless items covered the boxes, we made our way back to the till.

"Hello, Emma." A red haired man with little glasses smiled.

"Hey, Archie. How've you been?" Emma asked politely.

"Good, I've been good. How about you?"

"I've been okay."

"Pongo's tied up outside, so I have to go. Tell Henry I said hello." Archie waved and made his way to the exit.

Once we were at the front of the line, the cashier scanned the items and Emma quickly gave her the money. The cashier's eyebrows raised for a moment when she first saw the pregnancy tests. She didn't personally know Emma, but Emma was quite well known around the town.

"Could you not say-" Emma began in a quiet voice.

"I won't say a word." The lady behind there till smiled. Emma thanked her before dragging me out of the shop.

Once we were out of the pharmacy, Emma unlocked the car door and put the carrier bag into the back seat.

"Do you want to go and get a drink at Granny's before going back?" Emma asked, slamming the car door.

"Don't you need to get home?" I asked.

"Nah, that can wait." Emma dismissed. She then linked my arm and walked along the road to the popular diner.

The little bell above the entrance rang as we swung the door open and people glanced over to see who had arrived, as usual. I had probably been the talk of the town, being Emma's long lost daughter and all. To them, a month ago Emma was pushing around an infant I'm a pram. Now I was almost as tall as my mother. Something like that is stare worthy.

"Could we get two hot chocolates with cinnamon please?" Emma asked the red lipped lady behind the bar who, if I remember correctly, is called Ruby.

"Of course," she smiled. "And instead of money, can I just have a piece of your gum?"

"Can I hide anything from you?" Emma laughed, pulling out a crimped packet of gum from her jean pockets.

"Probably not." Ruby answered. "But it's not always good having this stupid gene. Super senses is probably the one positive. Maybe I was made a lesbian so that I couldn't curse future generations."

"Am I missing something?" I asked uneasily.

"Oh, yeah. I'm a werewolf." Ruby said casually. She didn't even look up from the drinks she was making.

"You know, Ruby, the fact you turn into a hairy forest animal might be a big deal for certain people." Emma hinted.

"I'm not going to eat you, if that helps." Ruby smiled.

"Is it bad that I'm not even suprised by anything anymore? You could tell me that I was the tooth fairy and I probably wouldn't question you." I laughed.

"Don't be ridiculous, you couldn't be the tooth fairy. That doesn't make sense." Emma said, picking up her hot cocoa.

"Oh, but being the grandchild of Snow White and Prince Charming does?" I smiled and took a sip of my drink.
