Chapter4 – Trust me


SirGuy of Gisborne walked closer to the sheriff's quarters. His personalstuff was frightened of every movement and hid the moment they heardfootsteps coming closer.


Hisown servant had never act this way. She had done her work properlyand didn't seem to be scared nor forced to do her duties. Gisborne'sown servant seemed to like his servant and while he swallowed hard herealized he was the only one of his servants who seemed to like herduties.

Outof all he should have protected her not only to please Marian but forhis own sake. To have someone near him who didn't hate him shouldhave been an honor and priviledge to him but losing it he bit histongue and opened the door to the sheriff's personal chamber.


Thedoor wasn't locked and a voice shouted at him pushing his silentservant back into his arms. "Take her! Take her out of my sight!This disgusting thing... take it away!"


Leaningagainst his chest the poor servant was crying while Sir Guy didn'tknow what was going on. He looked from his sheriff to his servant andhis body was controlled by mixed feelings. Heat and cold both shookhim before he grabbed the girl by her arm and dragged her out of theroom.


"Iwant her punished! Kill her, Gisborne, kill her!" The words of thesheriff were following him but Sir Guy didn't performed his duty andhad other plans. His feet were rushing down the halls dragging hisservant girl with him to the entrance gate where Marian was waitingwith his horse.


Shenodded to him and his heart skipped a beat while his crying servantheld his hand tighter. Her fear of the sheriff late him leaveMarian's side without a word instead he helped the girl on his horseand left the castle as soon as possible.


Ridinghome to his own estate she hugged him and held tight to his chest. Nowoman had ever done this around him but he had seen women act thesame in Nottingham and Sherwood.

Whensomeone is scared they look for help at the nearest person they trustand on the way home his servant girl trusted him like no one ever didbefore.
