Finding Mr. Right

Raven

The game was done and Zach quickly pulled me from Aaron Gordon and brought me to the area around the locker rooms.

Zach was all sweaty and he looked annoyed.  He brought his hand to his chin and made a thinking face.

"What am I to do with you?"  He said and I stared at him confused.
"Are you mad?"  I asked looking around.

Zach threw his towel to the ground and brought his face extremely close to mine.

"I'm furious." He growled and I stepped back a bit nervous.
"Why? I don't understand." Zach started to laugh a little making me nervous.. It was that laugh you made when you are so extremely mad.
"You seriously don't?" Zach said and he stared me in my eyes. Gawd.. His eyes were beautiful.
"You like Aaron don't you?" He said and I gave him the dumbest look on the planet.
"What in the actual hell?" I laughed a bit from the question.

"Don't play dumb with me Raven. He asked you out and you still haven't responded to him. You think about him, don't you?" Zach said with a blush on his face.
"I can't be friendly to guys?"  I asked him.
"He's not a good guy."
"What's it to you if I like him?"  I asked and he stared at me for a bit.

He cupped my cheek and brought his face close to mine.

"I'm jealous.  I like you Raven."  He said and my jaw dropped.

I pointed at me staring at him confused.  Is he talking about me Raven?  Or another Raven?

"Yes you and seeing him kiss your cheek and getting close to him like that makes me sick to my stomach."  He said.  I knew something was up but I didn't want to believe it.

"Let me guess..  You don't like me..." He said and I stayed silent.  I don't know.

"It's okay.  I get it."  He said and walked away.

I wanted to yell for him to stop, but I couldn't.  My heart ached as he disappeared from my vision.

My vision got blurry.  I covered my mouth to stop my cries from coming out.  Zach left me.  He's angry with me.

"Raven."  I looked up to see Kyle.  He looked like he already knew what happened.  Kyle pulled me into a hug.

"Shh...  You'll ruin your makeup."  Kyle said into my ear making me want to cry more.

"Kyle!  Raven!"  We both turned and a light blinded our eyes.  Paparazzi..

Kyle placed his arm around my shoulder and we started to walk away quickly.

He brought me outside to a car and we entered in the back.

The car started to drive and he stared at me.

"What happened?"

I told Kyle the story and he looked at me with a thinking face.

"The question is do you like Zach? I mean you cried when he left. It looks like you do." Kyle said and I laughed a bit.
"I don't. I can't." I said hugging myself and Kyle looked at me strangely.
"Why can't you?"
"He died."  I started to cry and Kyle placed his hand on my back rubbing it.
"Raven calm down, who died?"  He asked worried.

I stared at him.
I trusted Kyle.  We are pretty close.

"I had a boyfriend."  My voice cracked and I turned to Kyle.
"You broke up?"  He asked and I shook my head.

"I had a basketball game.  I asked him to come, and he was willing to... But on his way..  A fucking damn driver hit him.  I killed him.  I feel like it's all my fault."  I started to sob.
"Is that why you say you don't play basketball?"  Kyle asked and I nodded.
"I hate it.  You guys made me play, but I hate it so much.  It makes me feel so sick."  I said and he sighed.

"You like basketball right?  Don't let this stop you from living.  Make yourself happy.  He died, but you are bound to love again.  He will accept it, and you didn't kill him."  Kyle said and I stared at him.

"If you care about Zach, tell him about it.  You two seem close.  He needs to understand you.  Eventually, I know you'll move on and probably get with him."  Kyle said and I smiled.

"You are like a dad to me."  I said and he rolled his eyes.
"I'm an older brother!!!  If I was a dad, Zach would be dead."  Kyle said and I laughed.

I was really thankful I had someone like Kyle close to me.
