#8 :: Not Everything Is Shared

What can I say? Life has been great! Me and Malcom are happier than ever. I feel like when we just got married. The cruise definitely brought us back together.

I don't know for certain if Malcom cheated. It looks very much like he did. But as I don't have the proof I'm going with the flow, I'm making my marriage work. I didn't marry Malcom to get a divorce.

Not everyone will understand and others may call me a fool. But there's a part of me that is standing by "if I go looking for something I'm going to find it" and it may not be what I want to find. Also Malcom wasn't being distant like he was.

"What you thinking about?" Malcom asked me taking me out of my thoughts.

"How you know I'm thinking about anything?"

"You was staring into space."

"Oh. Nah I was just thinking that I really hope my last case wasn't a fluke and that I'm as good as I think I am." I said somewhat the truth.

"I don't think it was a fluke. Women are the best at finding things us men won't. Plus you are smart. Your next case and all the others will prove that." He said.

See, my husband was being supportive. He believed in me. I wasn't going to ruin that.

"Yeah, your right, thanks boo." I said.

You see just before we went on the cruise I passed and got my promotion. I was put on quite a big case as part of my assessment and it was me that actually closed the case and made us win. They said the case was going on over a year and they couldn't find nothing to help their client. I guess my fresh eyes and knowledge to the case helped them. Because of this not only did I pass but I got promoted straight away. My next case I'll be shadowed just to make sure I'm confident and that the last case wasn't a fluke. I didn't even expect to get paid but I did. I instantly opened a new account for myself. I wanted to make sure I had my own money. I didn't want to live off of Malcom.

"I'm proud of you you know Steph. I don't say it often but I am." He said as he kissed me.

"Mmm... You want to start something now. I got to go. But I got something for you later." I said as I kissed him again.

"Mmm... Well I can't wait!"

"Well I'm going now. I ain't seen the girls since we been back other than Tasha and that wasn't really on a great circumstances."

"Yeah yeah.. How is she?"

"Tasha won't let that eat her up. But that's what worries me. That person is still out there and clearly been watching her. Tasha won't be phased and I'm just hoping that he don't catch her again off guard."

"Well her house has been secured now. I'm sure she was given a panic button as well. They do need to find that bastard. Or I will." He said.

I smiled. Malcom had a temper and when he heard what happened to Tasha he flipped out.

"Look at you being all protective. I'll be sure to let her know. Bye babe!" I said as I left to go meet the girls.

Today we was going for a long lunch for our monthly catch up. I hadn't seen the girls since before I left for the cruise so I was looking forward to today.
