The Selection

Chapter 5

"Thank you so much!" I exclaimed. I really was thankful. "Do you want to play some cards or something?" I asked

"What? Us?" Mary asked looking around the room.

"Of course you silly, who else?" I said with a laugh

"Well. Since you get lunch in your room today we can. We have 2 hours until dinner since that drill was so long." Mary said. 

Suzy and Mary sat around me on the floor and we played cards for about an hour before they started getting me ready for dinner. It was fun we talked about boys and clothes and childhood. I learned that Mary was also born in Carolina and Suzy was born an 8. 

For dinner they said ti was a party with us girls and the Royal family. It was semi-formal. So they put me in a dress they made earlier that was a bright purple. It was tight at the top until it got to a diamond belt and then shot out all the way to the floor. I guess semi-formal is way more formal compared to the semi-formal I am used to at home. 

For my makeup they did some more purple on the eyeshadow, but it was very subtle and then just normal for the rest. I looked great. As for my hair they did a half up half down look and straightened it. I put on black heals and they offered me jewelry but I decided to just wear the necklace Luke gave me a year ago and just took some pearl earrings and a simple silver bracelet. 

"Thank you!" I said looking at myself in the mirror 

"You look great Miss." Mary exclaimed

Suzy nodded and she looked in aw. We said our goodbyes and the pointed me to the Women's room where the party was. I met up with Erin and Hunter on the way there. I guess I changed my mind Hunter is my favorite. I hope she wins. 

"You look amazing." Hunter said. She was wearing a yellow dress, kind of similar to mine but with not belt it was just the same shape. On the other hand she picked out very nice jewelry. 

"So do you all!" I said and I hugged them and we continued walking to the women's room. 

"Looks like the part has already started." Said Erin looking around the huge room. 

The party had started and I noticed 10 less girls there.

"You look confused?" Lucy said walking up to me 

"Ya. What happened to the other girls?" I asked

"Oh. They left. After their meetings with the family and the prince he sent them home." Lucy added

"Wow." 

The girls who left were Emma, Kate, Isabella, Taylor, Kristen, Maddison, Fiona, Abigail,Daisy and Tina. 

"So much for our group project." I said while walking her to Ella.

She laughed "Ya. Stefanie is replacing her in our group." 

I nodded and walked back over to Hunter. She was talking to Queen Amberley. I decided I needed some air after hearing all the sad news so I walked out into the hallway and ran into wait-what-LUKE?

"Hey M" Luke said with a smile. I hugged him

"What are you doing here??" I said with a huge smile. 

"Oh I got drafted here. Nice necklace." He said with a smirk. pointing to the necklace he gave me. 

"We need to talk." I said

"Ok." He said with a wink and he pulled me into this tight little closet and closed and locked the door. If anyone saw us we could be killed. 

I could feel his breath on my shoulder. Soon his lips were on mine and I had 500000 butterflies in my stomach. 

"I missed you!" I said in between kisses

He smiled through our kisses and put his hand on my back pushing me more into him. He started to deepen the kiss. I didn't realize how much I miss him. 

"I missed you too." He said. "But I am here now and I will make as much time for you as I can." He continued but placed his lips on mine again. His hand played with the zipper on the back of my dress  until he finally unzipped it. He pulled the dress off me and kissed up and down my neck. 

"We cannot do this right now. If they notice I am gone they will freak." I said pulling him off of me. I started to put my dress back on and he zipped it up with a pout on his face.

"Maybe another time?" He suggested with a smirk.

I nodded and we kissed again. It felt like years before we stopped. He let me out of the closet and I went back in the room.

"Where were you?" Matthew said as I walked in

"Oh...I was in the...bathroom." I said trying to not sound like I was lying.

"You sure?" He said with a wink

I nodded and blushed. 

"Would you like to dance?" He asked

"Yes" I said with a smile and he led me out to the dance floor.
