Recap:
I only shook my head, not being able to argue with that logic. Nathan wrapped his arms around my shoulders as he paid and we left to go back to our hotel room. I leaned my head on his shoulders as we watched the kids, a couple steps ahead of us.
When we finally reached the hotel room, the kids went straight into their rooms to change. Nathan and I went to our rooms, as we were also quite tired. I quickly changed and went straight to sleep. I wanted to wait for Nathan but my eyes wouldn’t stay open.
Part 26
Alice’s POV
We were having trouble deciding on where we should go. The kids wanted fast food, I want Chinese, Dave wanted Italian and Nathan was good with whatever. In the end we picked a random restaurant, which turned out to be fast food, much to the kids’ enjoyment.
We just sat, ate and talked a lot. It was quite fun, because Dave made me laugh like a hyena. He was hilarious and Nathan too, he was pretty funny as well, which surprised me.
“I like you Alice! If Nathan ever dumps you, heaven forbid, you can come to me.” Dave told me.
“Yeah, right, like I would let Alice go.” Nathan butted in.
“Well then if you don’t like him anymore, come to me.” Dave amended.
I laughed at that, and nodded, because I couldn’t speak. Nathan pouted, upset but he knew I was just joking too.
“Nathan, she’s way better than Natalie. She’s nothing like Natalie actually.” Dave said.
“Natalie?” I voiced, my thoughts, confused.
Nathan smacked Dave in the head, while muttering under his breath.
“Oh, sorry dude.” Dave apologized.
“Who’s Natalie?” I asked, again.
“Remember when I told you, I was scared to tell you my past?” Nathan asked.
“Yeah.” I said, warily.
“Well, she’s part of my past. I was planning to tell you sometime today, so let me explain when I get back home, ok?” I told her.
I couldn’t eat anymore and neither could Dave or Nathan. The kids had no idea what was going on, so they were happily chatting and eating. Nathan and Dave went back to work as the kids and I went back to the hotel. The kids took naps, because they were tired and since I had nothing else to do, I decided to take a nap as well, maybe it would clear my head a little.
Nathan’s POV
I was so mad a Dave. I had told him not to ruin it for me, and he did just that.
“UGH!! Dude!” I yelled at him.
“Sorry, I’m really sorry dude. You think she’s mad?” Dave said, worried.
“No, she’s anything but mad. Sad, hurt, disappointed, but definitely not mad. Which makes it worse for me.” I reassured him.
“I’m sorry, I really am dude. I know you like her, like you really like her. Why else would you be willing to take kids that aren’t even yours at such a young age?” Dave commented.
“Yeah, I love her. I definitely love her.” I confined in him.
“Wow, you’ve never said that. Not even about Natalie.” Dave mentioned.
