September 12th to 17th
Monday- Today was pretty decent. I'm pissed at my computer's teacher because she gave me a 0 for an assignment that saved in code rather than words. Like how was I supposed know that would happen?!?! Now my grade is a 90.
Cross country was pretty fun. The groups we're split into each had to think of a running related rap while we were working out. My group came in second place. I feel obligated to mention that Norrel's rapping isn't half bad. And he did it shirtless. I might be biased...
Tuesday- Well the only way to describe today is overwhelming. My first class was Chem, and we had to do a project with a partner that's due next time. I did most of the work in class, so she took it home to finish. The problem is that she's not the brightest and I'm not sure how trustworthy she is. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt though.
In English I screwed up a quiz because I didn't study enough. Fantastic. My computer teacher still hasn't changed my 0 grade, and I'm concerned that when she does I'll only get half credit. I literally started crying in Spanish because I don't understand subject pronouns and we have a massive chapter one, over 150 point test on Monday and I only know half of it.
Then at cross country, we were doing a latter form workout which resulted in 3 miles. I fell behind the group and couldn't make our goal time every single meter goal. I feel so sucky.
Yeah, so basically my grades are going down the toilet only five weeks in, and I can't run for shit.
Wednesday- Today was only slightly better than yesterday. I think I screwed up my Geometry quiz. I spent over two hours doing homework. My computer's teacher gave me 8/10 points on that one 0 assignment, which is good but she deducted a point (which is significant when the total is 15) on the next 4 assignments she graded and I have no idea wth was wrong with them. Literally, I feel like this week is the equivalent of the song line "And the walls kept tumbling down.
In the city that we love
Great clouds roll over the hills
Bringing darkness from above."On the plus side, I have $14 left on my account for school lunch money.
Wednesday- I completely forgot to write about it and now I can't remember wth happened.
Thursday- Today was fine. I got 1 point off the geometry test, according to the grading website, which resulted in a low A. I'm really nervous about the huge chapter 1 Spanish on Monday because I feel like I know nothing.
At cross country, we started this Secret Santa thing where we get our person 2 small gifts (candy, food, etc) every week for 2 weeks before switching. I got a girl I didn't know, but switched with J's junior friend so now I have Alice.
J and I usually carpool with eachother to get home from cross country, and in the car the topic of homecoming was brought up. J's mom asked if she was going and she said something along the lines of probably. Then her mom said to make sure of what friends she's going to go with and stuff, and J wasn't really sure.
This kinda bothered me because I was under the impression that J had prearranged plans to go with her other friends to homecoming, given that's what she said and that she neglected to invite me. But this makes it seem like that J doesn't really know what she's doing, but she's still not going to ask me if I want to go to homecoming with her as friends or with her friend group. Despite the fact that I've made it clear I have no one to go with, and am unsure of going to homecoming at all due to this.
Yeah, that small rant probably made no sense and made me seem like a sensitive bitch, but I just can't really explain the bad feeling I'm getting.
Friday- Today was pretty good. I aced my Computer's test, which should bring my grade up. Cross country went well; it was a slow day because it's the day before the meet.
Also, Monday is the last day to register for homecoming, and I still don't know wth is going on. I'm planning on going because I only get 4 of them. My dress will be the one I wore to my eighth grade dance last year, which will hopefully look nice enough. I just don't know if I'm going with anyone (not a date, I mean friends) or even what I'm supposed to do at it. Drop by in the comments with what homecoming is like.
My goals for the meet tomorrow are to not get lost (it's the same place I got lost at last week), not to cry while running, stick with or go past Lauren, and to beat my time from last week (29:19). I'm probably asking too much, but we'll see.
Note to tomorrow's self- If you accomplished these things, fuck yes! I'm proud of you and knew you could do it. If you didn't, don't ruin your weekend being disappointed in yourself.
Saturday- The meet went great. I didn't get lost, I didn't cry, I beat Lauren, and I beat my time. I believe I got 29:13. I wanted to get under 29 minutes, but oh well.
Tips:
1. Study for tests and quizes. Seriously, no matter how easy you think it's gonna be just study.
2. Set goals.
3. Don't be too down on yourself if you don't reach your goals.
4. Figure out the details of homecoming (who you're going with, what you're wearing, etc) early on.
5. A few bad grades aren't the end of the world, but make sure you do better in the future.
6. Bring friggin bug spray if you're running in the woods.
