"So what's up with you and Malakai?" Jessica grilled me.

"What are you talking about?" I scrunched up my face.

"I saw you walk out the party with him? What's up with that?" She crossed her arms over her chest.

"He just took me home. Don't worry , nobody wants your man." I said putting air quotes over 'man'.

She just rolled her eyes. I laughed , I swear they get mad over everything I do.

"Your hella out of line. You know she likes him." Tyla said from across the room.

"What's that got to do with me? I don't want Malakai." I said getting irritated.

"Yeah, whatever." She said under her breath.

-

"What's up ma'." June said wrapping his arm around my shoulder with Eli standing right next to him. We were on our way to our Spanish class.

"Tired as hell. Did y'all stay throughout the whole party?"

"Yeah, for maybe about an hour. The cops shut it down."

"Damn, that sucks."

"Yeah." Eli chimed in.

"It sucks that you left though." He said nudging my head.

"Man whatever." I laughed opening the classroom door.

Malakai was already in his seat on his phone, this will be the first time I seen him since this weekend.

He was a cool person, I shouldn't have judged him so hard when I first met him. I thought he was an arrogant asshole, I should've gave him a chance.

"Hey Malakai." I cheesed.

He just looked at me, with no facial expression. No smile, no nothing.

Ignored. No response left his mouth.

"Okay." I said awkwardly.

I sat in my desk that was right next to his.

I looked over at him again and he was still continuing to scroll through his phone.

"What's the problem?" I asked scrunching my face in confusion. We was just cool a couple days ago.

"Nothing." He shrugged.

"Did I do something?" I asked. I was confused.

He ignored me again. Now I didn't care, if Malakai didn't want to talk to me that's fine.

-

"You gon eat yo pizza?" Eli asked munching on his nachos.

"I feel like you ask me this everyday. Yes, I want my food and yes I want my juice." I lightly chuckled.

"Aye Malakai! Come here!" June yelled out.

Malakai came to our table moments later, with the same mug on his face from earlier.

"Yo?" He mumbled.

"You coming to my house after school? So I can whoop that ass in 2k."

"Nah. I gotta go home."

"What's yo problem dawg?" Eli asked.

"Nothing. Is y'all done?"

"Yeah."

With nothing else left to say. Malakai put his earphones on and left the cafeteria.

Something has to be wrong, and I want to know so bad. He asked me what was wrong with me that day, now I'm going to do the same. Returning the favor you can call it.
