It's been a month since I said the L word to Malakai. We went back to normal the next day. Ever since then I've been going to school and working late nights.
"Babe guess what!" Malakai yelled into the phone.
"What?"
"They signed me bae! I got the deal. Me and moms just signed the contract."
"No way! Congratulations baby."
"So what, you're the next Malakai Brown in the making?" I asked laying back in his bed.
"Nah, the next Chris Brown. I'd rather use my middle name."
"That's cute too. So what's next?"
"They gon put me in the studio. They want me to produce my first single."
"Wow Kai. I'm so proud of you."
"Thanks babe. Be ready by eight tonight. We throwing a party."
"I know for a FACT moms ain't letting you have a party."
"Damn right!" I heard Ms.Tammy say in the background.
I laughed.
"Man whatever. And it's gon be at Eli's."
"Oh okay. Are you guys almost home?"
"Yeah, about two hours away."
"Aww I miss y'all." I said. My family has been away for the past three days. It's crazy how much they mean to me.
"We miss you more. Can you do me a favor babe?"
"And what's that?"
"Can you pick me out a fit for tonight? So I can just come home and take a shower."
"Yeah, I gotchu."
"Tell moms that the house is cleaned. She doesn't have to worry about anything."
"You on speaker boo." He replied.
"Yeah mom, the house is all cleaned for you."
"Thanks baby. I really appreciate you." Ms.Tammy said.
"Alright well, I'll text you babe. Safe travels y'all."
"Bye babe."
And with that I hung up the phone. I've been home alone for the past three days. It's been cool to have the house to myself, but I do miss them. They became a family I never had. I real life look at Ms.Tammy as a mother.
