After Bliss met Nick, she has visited him every week, but only on the days when her mother is out finding good and when her father is out on his daily protein around the forest. They became really close friends and Bliss seemed to think of him as a older brother or a uncle she never had. But, her parents didn't know about him and she didn't want them to since they told her to stay away from them. But she didn't care, even if she was only five years old, Bliss had a strain of rebellion inside of her that she got at such a young age. And that was why right now, Bliss was waiting for her parents to leave so she could sneak off and meet Nick.
When she saw her parents have their daily kiss goodbye, they left in separate ways. Bliss waited for a couple minutes so that they were a good distance away from her, and she silently ran off into the forest not knowing that this was the last time that she would meet Nick in the forest again.
Bliss stopped running when she saw the old tree that stood in a small clearing in the forest. And that was where she and Nick visited each other every week. As she walked over to the tree, she saw the same body and face of the man she later on called her as her brother. "Hey Nick!" She said as she ran up to him and hugged his waist, her what ever she could reach from her short height. "Hey Bliss, what have you been up to today?" "Nothing much." Bliss said as she let go of him but continued to look up at his face as she smiled. But she realized something was wrong when usually he smiled back, but this time he didn't.
"Is something wrong?" She asked and Nick sighed knowing he had to now tell the child he grew to love as a little sister even though he only met her a couple weeks ago. He crouched down so he was on eye level with her and sighed before saying, "I'm sorry Bliss, but this will be the last time we can meet again." Bliss titled her head in confusion, "Why? Did I do something wrong?" "No no, it isn't you, it's just that it's getting more dangerous out here and my team has suspicion of where I wonder off to." Bliss looked down as he said this but stopped and looked up. "Why is it dangerous?" Nick gave her a look before answering, "Have you not noticed that there is a monster running around these trees, it can kill you in a second!" She titled her head but he let it go not wanting to scare the child.
"Like I said, I'm sorry, but I have to go, and you have to go back to your family." He started to walk off but was stopped when Bliss ran up to him and hugged him from behind. "But I don't want you to go! You're like my big brother!" Nick smiled and turned around and crouched down and hugged her back. "And you're like my little sister, but it's for the best, and we may see each other again." She let go of him and looked up, "Promise?" "Promise." Bliss nodded and smiled as she let go of him. "Bye kid." He ruffled her hair and walked off but when he was about out of ear shot, she said, "Bye." And he walked off back to his team and so did Bliss as she walked off back to her parents and home.
