"Eva, I-" Roman said, walking towards you.

But you backed off. "Don't. I don't want you to come near me."

"Okay." He replied and stood still as he looked at you.

"I'm going." You said, turning away from him and running off.

You didn't bother to search for your shoes, you didn't bother to call for a cab or to call for Peter. You just wanted to get to Roman's apartment as soon as you could.

Shivering from the cold weather, you quickly unlocked the front door and ran upstairs.

Putting a sweater over your dress, you then grabbed a backpack and stuffed it with some clothes, some toiletries and underwear.

You had to get out. Get away from Roman.

As you slipped on your sneakers, you hear the front door open and close. Roman was back.

You grabbed your backpack and headed downstairs, seeing Roman stand by the door.

He wasn't angry or annoyed, and you noticed that his eyes were red and puffy. He looked at you. "Please stay."

"Roman, you killed someone." You replied as you kept your distance from him. "You couldn't control yourself. That's dangerous."

"It was just a homeless guy." He tried to talk it right.

"But it could have been me." You stated. "Or Alison."

"I would never." He quietly said. He knew that was a lie. He knew that if he was angry, it could have been anyone.

"I should have trusted my gut." You said, looking away from him. "You're dangerous."

That been said, you walked out of the apartment and closed the door behind you. You tried not to think about the watery eyes Roman had and how vulnerable he looked.

He was an upir, a killer.

And witches and upirs shouldn't be together in the first place. They hunt each other, kill each other.

---

You unlocked the door to Destiny's place and got in. You were the only one that had a key, and this was better then telling Peter what had happened.

As you let your backpack fall on the ground, you grabbed your phone and dialed Alison's number and hoped she wasn't asleep yet.

"Yes Eva?" You heard her answer. She sounded slightly mad. You couldn't blame her.

"I'm sorry." You said. "I'm so sorry I left you there. I shouldn't have done that."

On the other side of the line, you heard Alison sigh quietly. "It's okay, Peter got there quickly and I'm safe. How's Roman? What happened?"

You furrowed your eyebrows, thinking what you were going to say. "He got real drunk, and got into a fight with this guy. But I got him home so he's okay."

"Glad to hear that." Alison replied. "He still is an asshole for ditching me though."

"Yeah he is." You said with a small chuckle.

"I'm gonna go to bed. Thank you for calling." Alison said, a little more happily.

"No problem, I really am sorry." You replied. "Good night Ali."

After she hung up, you crawled under the covers of you own bed. Hoping you'd fall asleep soon.

---

It was weird going to school all by yourself. You'd gone together with Roman for such a long time, you had forgotten how lonely it felt to go alone.

You hadn't talked to him at all, but you were hoping he would act 'normal'. So no one would know that somehing had happened. At least that was the plan you were going with.

Avoid him as much as you can, but act normal when you needed to.

You already noticed Shelley standing by the usual gather spot, Peter and Letha as well.

Alison was walking up to them, just before you did. She pulled you into a hug and quickly mumbled, "I didn't tell anyone what happened."

You smiled at her as she let go and mouthed a 'thanks' at her.

"Shee-it." Peter stated, looking beside Shelley at Roman getting next to her. "You look terrible! Are you sick or something?"

Letha rushed to Roman to check up on him, but he kind off brushed it off. "Just didn't sleep well."

"Did something happen?" Letha carefully asked.

Roman shrugged, avoiding your and Alison's eyes. "No."

It hurt to look at him. Because you knew exactly what you felt for him, what you wanted. But it was against everything in your nature.

At the end of that day, just when you were about to head to bed, you heard a knock on your door.

You instantly knew who it was, and doubted if you should open or not.

There were two more knocks. And you took a deep breath before opening he door.

"Hey." Roman said, as he was leaning against the doorframe.

You looked into his eyes, not knowing what to say to him. It was only a few days without him, but it was awful.

You realized you wanted him to be around. And that thought made you scared.

"Eva, are you scared of me?" He asked quietly.

You sighed and kept your eyes focused on his. "No."

"Do you hate me?"

"No."

He sniffled a little bit and carefully took your hand in his. "Why are you avoiding me?"

"Because we shouldn't be around each other." You stated. "Because of what we are, because of the people we hang out with, because of everything. What we did was a mistake."

"If that's what you think." He said, letting go of your hand. "We should end whatever we had here then."

"We should."
