Dark clouds, loud raindrops, and the night sky. The tall buildings only seemed that much more taller when seen at night, with the bright lights coming out of the small windows made it look like stars were plastered to the walls. People running into hotels to keep themselves dry, cars zooming down the long wet road, it seemed like this city never slept. Everything felt like it was in fast forward, until... It all stopped. Cars were suddenly parked, people no longer panicking and for a moment it seemed like all the lights were shut off.

Nothing really abnormal about it, at some point in the day everything would go silent. Except for the rain. Its heavy water droplets crashed on the ground so loudly, someone might question if it was hailing. Even though the streets were now empty, someone still lurked the silent city.

Black hoodie, light gray jeans and black high-tops. Hood up, no one seemed to notice the young woman. Not that they cared anyway. With every step she... You took, your body seemed to be getting colder. Your clothes soaked and hopes dying, you slowed your pace. There was no use in rushing now, the books in your bag were already drenched.

Cursing under your breath, you stopped your footing, looking around in search for something to tell you where you were. Blinking to the end of the sidewalk, your eyes readjusted at the sign on the other side of you.

"Of course I am..." Muttering to yourself, you huffed, your hot breath leaving a cloud of mist before you. You slumped forward, pulling your arms closer to you as you tried to get warm. How did you get on the other side of town anyway? Taking in a deep breath, you moved to cross the road. The squeaking of your shoes were barely audible over the sound of the rain. Stepping out onto the street in front of you, you didn't bother to look both ways, thinking to yourself that no one would be out this late anyway. But as you were halfway across, something struck your attention. You blinked up from your shoes, the dust from the road moving up into the air like it was a cloud surrounding you.  A low grumble was coming down the road. You slowed and came to a stop,  the sound striking your curiosity. It... Didn't exactly sound like a car, yet it made your nerves perk.

Leaning slightly in confusion, your eyes squinted. Wanting to call out, to try and see if it was someone or something, but as you were doing so, something came into view. And it came fast. Having little to no time to react, you scrabbled on your own feet as a racing car came speeding towards you. Throwing your arms out in front of you to try and stop the moving car, or at least warn the diver, but nothing stopped it.

Eyes widening, heart racing, and breath slowly fading, everything seemed to be in slow motion. The screeching sound of breaks being stomped on could be heard over the loud storm above. Holding your breath, you felt the cold metal impact with your shaking body. Nothing could prepare you for what pain you endeared. Your body being rammed into and thrown across the concrete. You slid on your back, hearing multiple cracks. But surprisingly... You did not scream, you held onto your shirt, staring up at the clouds above you. The ringing in your ears making the world around you seem hazed, blurry and sharp

The car stopped a couple of feet away from your broken body. You blinked your eyes over to it, unable to move your head as you watched the passenger door open, and someone come rushing out.
