A/N: Because Rin is my bae.
"Hey, Rin?" (Y/N) asked, giving the Shark (loool) a huge smile.
"Hmm?" He replied, throwing her a lazy smile.
"Your teeth-"
"(Y/N)! I SWEAR-"
Boom! She had just gotten the Shark triggered. Good God, it was just so, so easy and so, so amusing.
"Hey, children. Stop it." Sosuke mock scolded, standing in between a certain shark-toothed swimmer and a (e/c)-eyed girl.
The maroon-haired (or magenta? Gah whatever) boy glared at his best friend and the girl he had grown to like. (Y/N) was so fond of teasing him and pissing him off yet he still couldn't shake his feelings for her off. What was this sorcery?
An amused chuckle left (Y/N)'s mouth as she flashed Rin a smug look, "Aw, sorry, Shark Boy."
Rin tried to reach past Sosuke, to grab (Y/N)'s arm but she moved away, poking out her tongue at him.
"Thanks, Sosuke. You're the best." She grinned at Sosuke, winked at Rin and ran away.
Rin huffed angrily, "I HATE HER!"
"Of course you do." Sosuke mocked, giving him a knowing look.
"Yeah."
"Aw come on, Rin. Go tell her, already. This cliché love story is killing me."
A huge blush came over Rin's face as he stared at Sosuke with an open mouth. "W-WHAT?"
"Seriously, man? I'm your best friend. I know what goes through that thick head of yours, Rin. Please, do yourself and everyone a favour and tell her about your feelings already!"
"Sosuke," He stared at his friend, flabbergasted and in shock, "Wow."
Sosuke encouraged his friend with a pat on the back, "Do it."
"Yes! Thanks, Sosuke!" Rin nodded eagerly, "I'll tell her!"
----------
(Y/N) had always hidden her feelings with humour; be it sadness, anxiety, anger or even love. That was her biggest strength but also her biggest weakness. People always mistook her for an extremely composed or happy person all the time, even when she felt like the world was crashing down on her. The same applied for the people she loved; she was such a pro at hiding her feelings that they never got a hint. She hid her love for Rin Matsuoka perfectly well. Jokes, teasing, laughs and smiles. That was all she offered to Rin alongside her friendship. Not even giving him a slight hint that she was helplessly in love with him.
What felt like accomplishment, weighed her down with guilt. What if he never realised that she loved him? What if he found a girl who he loved? Hell, did he even like her more than a friend? Were they supposed to be clueless to each other's feelings forever?
As she thought more and more about him, he appeared outside her hostel room.
A knock ensued, and as she opened it, she was greeted with the sharkie smile of Rin Matsuoka.
"Hey." He grinned.
"Hi." She mumbled, breathlessly. Her mind occupied by thoughts of how Rin might feel towards her.
(Y/N) moved aside to let Rin enter, but he shook his head, "We're going out."
"Eh?"
"You heard me, (L/N). We're going outside."
"You mean I'm going out on a date with the Shark?" (Y/N) smirked, hiding the fact that she was internally screaming.
"Look who's so eager to call it that." Rin mumbled lighthearetedly, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
A look of hurt flashed across the (e/c) eyes of (Y/N) but she smiled nonetheless, "We'll call it a friendly hangout, then. If that's what you want."
"Uh- yeah. Alright." He looked at her with a questioning look, not understanding the reason for the change in atmosphere.
(Y/N) grabbed her phone, locked her room and left with Rin, on a 'friendly hangout'.
They hung out at a park, he bought her icecream and together they went to a restaurant for lunch.
"You know something, Rin?" (Y/N) asked, giving Rin a small smile.
He shook his head no.
"Well, my favourite fish is the shark."
Rin almost choked on the water he was drinking and stared at (Y/N) with shocked eyes.
"Yeah, I love the Shark." (Y/N) mumbled, throwing a small hint at the clueless man in front of her.
"Hmm, really?" He asked grinning, his shark-teeth showing.
(Y/N) nodded, playing with the napkin in front of her.
"Well, I'm sure the Shark loves you way more than you love him." He smirked as a huge blush covered (Y/N)'s cheeks.
"HIM?" (Y/N) shouted, then regained her composure. 'Time to play dumb now, (Y/N)!' She mentally reminded herself.
"Yeah." He grinned, leaning towards (Y/N) and pushing a stray strand of hair away from her face.
(Y/N)'s mind was stuck now. Her eyes and mouth were wide open and she practically forgot how to breathe. Did he actually LOVE HER?!
Their food arrived, thankfully, diffusing the tension.
After they both had finished eating, he decided to walk her home.
BUT.
He held her hand throughout the long walk to her hotel.Okay, okay. (Y/N) almost died and her face was flushed but so was his.
As they both stood outside her hostel, not wanting to leave, he smirked, "How'd your date with the Shark go?"
(Y/N) blushed even more but managed a huge smile, "Date? Shark?"
"Let me rephrase that. How did your date with Rin Matsuoka, that is me, go?"
"Brilliantly, thank you." She winked at him.
"And your feelings for him?" He grinned, placing his hands on her shoulders.
(Y/N) pretended to think for a moment and then gave him a smug look, "The same as his feelings for me."
"You're such a tease, (Y/N)." He shook his head but leaned down, his face merely centimetres away from hers, "But I still love you."
"I love you too, Sharkie." She smiled, pulling him closer.
Gently, he pressed his lips to hers and she felt alive.
Rin Matsuoka. He was (Y/N)'s. What more could she ever need?
