Oh that poor excuse of a hint! Splendid, such a funny name, walked right out without thinking twice! He didn't notice the shift in power! Such a sad man. I'm going to enjoy breaking him.
"Why must you do this!?" the green headed boy shouted. "Why must you make me a monster!?" Turning to face him, the voice that came out was low and icy. "Because everyone in this town is ready to hurt you! And I, for one, am not going to let you die while I'm stuck in this body!"
The greenette shrunk and said nothing. He knew that those words were right.
"I plan to make sure that man pays the price for trying to get in my way of owning this town."
Splendid felt chills go down his back after thinking about what Flippy had said. The tones he had, the eyes shifting... No. That can't be right. His eyes had changed and his teeth seemed different.
Splendid shook his head. It must've been the lighting. No one's body can change that drastically in such a short amount of time.
He managed to get home, unaware of the man lurking close by. He sat in his chair in the library upstairs. He figured maybe reading up on the town's history would give him a clue of who this man was.
He was so engulfed in the book that he never realized that the door was picked and someone was creeping up the stairs. The masked man stood in front of him and yet, Splendid never noticed until the blade managed to pierce his nearly unbreakable skin.
Splendid toppled over in his chair, hissing in pain. He felt the blood run his cheek, something that he hadn't felt in years. He looked up, seeing a man in all green standing over him. He went to kick the man when he felt the blade hit his cheek again. He groaned softly, swiftly kicking the man. He rolled to his side and a blade landed near his face. He got up quickly, going for the door. The man with the mask grabbed him by the shirt, using force to throw Splendid back into a shelf. The books fell with a loud crash.
Splendid got up, only to be pushed back down by a steel-toed boot. A low chuckle came from the unknown man. Splendid looked up at the mask. He could feel the grin on the man's face, despite not being able to see it. "Who the hell are you!?" Splendid demanded.
The man drew a grenade from his pocket. Splendid's eyes widen as the man slowly pulled the pin.
He dropped the mini bomb onto Splendid.
"Your worst nightmare."
The man jumped out the window and ran just as the grenade went off.
The blue haired man's ears rang. He wasn't sure of how long he had been knocked out after the explosion. People had gathered around what was left of his home. He sat up, the ringing slowly going away. He wiped leftover blood off his face. his muscles ached. He hadn't expected the grenade to be so powerful. Someone asked him something, but he still wasn't able to hear clearly. He looked up, seeing red hair. It was the Flaky girl from the cafe. He nodded, assuming she has asked if he was okay.
He got up and looked around. He saw Flippy staring at the burning mess. His green eyes shone with tears and his face had regret written all over it. He held a pin in his hand tightly. Splendid could see the young man shaking. He turned around, stuffing the pin into his pocket. As he pulled his hand away, the pin dropped. The young one didn't notice and took off, wiping his eyes.
Splendid sat still for awhile, his gaze not leaving the pin on the ground. Once he regained most of his hearing and his muscles stopped aching so much, he got up. Everyone had left by now, uninterested. He walked over and picked up the metal object.
It was a grenade pin.
