The next morning, Matt wakes up before his dad does and gets everything he'll need to go to Colleen's house ready. Things like his Nintendo & charger, his dad's old iPhone 4 that he was given to use more as an iPod than a phone, his favorite CD -Danger Days by My Chemical Romance- and some small toys too.

He has never been to a friend's house before so he doesn't know what to take with him exactly, but he thinks this'll do.

"Matt? Wake up, it's time to go to school!"Tyler says sleepy as he comes in his son's room to see him wide awake and already eating a chocolate chip muffin.

"I'm almost ready!"Matt replies with the mouth full of crumbs. He runs to his closet and picks out a Legend of Zelda t-shirt and a random pair of jeans, along with his favorite black converse. And we cannot forget the mandatory outerwear: a brown leather jacket.

"Why are you up so early, kiddo? It's not Christmas nor your birthday."

"I wanted to be ready to go to Colleen's house."

"Oh. Right. That's today."

"You forgot?"

Tyler remains silent,"...maybe."

"Dad!"Matt comes out of the closet (ayyyy lmao) already dressed and the half eaten muffin still in his hand.

"Sorry sorry."

Matt rolls his eyes and basically stuffs the rest of his breakfast into his mouth. "'Tis okay. Don't worry,"he says once he passes the food from his mouth down to his stomach.

"When you're there ask Colleen's dad if you can borrow the phone to call me okay?"

Matt nods and shoves his things into his backpack and runs downstairs to the kitchen for a glass of milk. Tyler yawns and goes to his room to put a decent outfit on. He usually sleeps in a old Star Wars t-shirt and sweatpants, which are not acceptable to wear in public yet.

He puts some black skinny jeans, but leaves the Star Wars shirt on because why the fuck not amirite? He grabs his phone and goes to join his son downstairs.

Matt is already filling a black, white and red bird mug with coffee for his father when he arrives to the kitchen. The child passes it to him and he doesn't even hesitate to drink it all in one gulp. He is in a relationship with coffee, you could say. He barely makes it through the day without it. He's one step away from becoming one of the Gilmore Girls.

"Thanks, kid. Ready to go?"he asks as he takes his keys from the counter.

Matt nods,"Yup!" He grabs his backpack that is sitting on one of the chairs and follows his dad to the car.

They get in and drive to the school. They sing along to Troye Sivan's ep TRXYE, one of their personal favorites. Alex, well actually Jack who is Alex's boyfriend, was the one that introduced them to the smol bean that is Troye. Tyler practically fell in love with his voice and the music as a whole. He knows every lyric to all the songs; Matt likes Troye too although not as much as his father.

"Just set my heart on fire, like gasoline,"Tyler sings along with Troye's voice on the car radio.

"You really like this song, hm?"
