Chapter 33

Cassie's POV 

After the first set of rogues started to near us, I lashed out a wind barrier around us pushing the group out of it while Zach, my dad, and Nick got to us. 

"DO NOT USE EARTH!" Zach said running past me to join the other fighters. 

"Cassie, let the barrier down and protect the ones who can't fight!" Dad ordered before joining Nick and Liam to fight the rogues.  

"But--" I started to say and run off to join him before Luca grabbed my arm and said, "We can handle this fight right now but we need someone to help protect the ones who need the protection. You can do that while also being safe." 

"Please stay." Haiden then mentioned before I looked at both their eyes to see the same thing, love. I nodded my head before they ran off to fight while I attempted to run back to the pack house until I saw a group of kid trying to get in as well with a rogue some how passing the guards and trying to grab at one of them. 

I shifted and ran towards the kids. When I was right in front of them I mind linked them, 'GET INSIDE NOW.'  They nodded before running inside and closing the door before I started to circle the rogue. 

He never made a move so I decided to bite at him being able to get right on top of him and biting off his throat, instantly killing him. More rogues then appeared right behind me and I had no way to access an entrance inside to protect them but it seemed like they were here for one thing, me. 

'If they want something with us, they have to fight us.' Selene said and I nodded before running into the forest to get to a nearby river I knew of. 

They were on my tail literally every step of the way when I was able to get by the river I tried my best in a wolf stance to create a water barrier separating myself and the rogues. I started to create octopus arms from the water barrier and luckily grabbed and chucked some of the rogues not realizing I was blind sided behind me. 

I felt a presence get right behind me and I tried to be faster but it was too late when they stabbed me with a needle which later welcomed my darkness. 

"We'll be home in a few, my princess." The voice said before the utter darkness covered all my senses including one that stopped Selene, wolfs bane.
