Today was the day my best friend was getting married to her high school sweetheart and I'm the maid of honor and I couldn't be happier for her.
Kris was my date and we have been dating for about a year and a half now and we both couldn't be happier with how our lives are going at this very moment.
The ceremony went by as fast as it could and I couldn't help shed a few tears because we had been best friends for as long as I could remember and I have never seen her more happy than she is at this moment.
Not gonna lie, I snuck a few glances at Kris during the ceremony and all I could think about was the both of us standing on the altar and getting married ourselves.
"Emma you look absolutely breathtaking." Kris said once I got to the reception and he saw me, giving me a kiss as well. "You look absolutely handsome babe." I said with a smile. He guided me to our table, no we weren't sitting with the bride and groom, they had their own table by themselves.
Their first dance was beautiful and again, my mind went to how Kris and I would dance on our wedding night and what song we would be dancing to. "Whatcha thinking about babe?" Kris asked taking me out of my daydreaming.
"Just about us." I said, I didn't want to scare him away with my thinking about our future because I didn't know where he was in all of this. "What about us?" He asked.
"Do you ever think about a future with me? Like getting married and having kids?" I asked turning to look at him and he had a smile on his face, like he was relieved that I said that.
"All the time, I didn't know you were thinking about it too. Seeing you standing up there today made me think about you in that white dress while I'm in a nice tux with all of our friends in family in the pews." He said and I smiled.
"What about kids?" I asked. "I want them, not a lot though. Maybe three or four. I know you want a big family, just not seven kids." He said with a laugh and I laughed along with him. "Alright fine, I'll go with three or four." I said.
The DJ had invited all the couples on the dance floor. "May I have this dance my lovely girlfriend?" Kris said standing up and holding his hand and I smiled and took his hand. "You may." I said walking with him to the dance floor.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and his went around my waist and I laid my head on his shoulder. "I love you Emma, I can't wait for our future together." He said and I lifted my head up to look into those gorgeous blue eyes of his.
"I love you too Kris, and I can't wait either." I said leaning in and giving him a soft kiss.
