The Hunger Games {Hiccstrid} {Completed}

Narrative

"So, I was thinking of putting different smoke spots so that the Career's will follow it, and as that happens, I am thinking that Astrid should make an explosion around the area. Because as you were sleeping Astrid, Rue had told me that they have made mines around the supplies. Like a big trap." Hiccup explained to the girls and both girls smile at him in agreement.

"Best idea I have heard yet from you." Astrid said punching his shoulder before she got up and Hiccup chuckled.

"Thank you, Milady." He said smirking and a small blush appears on her face.

"I told you not to call me that." Astrid said and Rue laughs quietly at the young teenager's romance.

"Come on, let's get this plan out of the road." Rue said before she had grabbed her pack and she had started walking towards the centre of the arena, leaving the two love birds behind and Astrid smiled at her.

"It's a great thing to see that your helping us out. Thank you Hiccup." Astrid said before she stood up and she had grabbed her pack and her bow and quiver and Hiccup had done the same with his pack before the two of them go off to catch up to Rue.

"So how are we going to do this?" Astrid asked as the three of them walk the forest and Rue stops for a moment and points at the tree showing these weird shaped green leaves and Astrid rose one of her eyebrows.

"Why are you pointing at the tree?"

"Well, Milady, these leaves on these trees will make very thick smoke which will get the Career's attention." Hiccup said as he puts his arm around her shoulders and she looked at him with a small grin.

"I didn't know you knew these leaves." Rue said as she started to climb the tree to grab as many leaves as possible and Astrid had started to collect wood.

"Well, you know that now, Rue." Hiccup said before he went over to another tree and he had started to cut some of the leaves off there.

A FEW MINUTES LATER...

Astrid

As we finished up all the smoke points, Rue and Hiccup had looked at me and they smiled widely at me. "Before we go, Astrid. Can you whistle?" Rue asked and I nod.

"Good, because I want you to try this with me." Rue said as she stands beside me and she whistled a four-note sound and after that, we had heard a reply with Mocking jays around the trees and my eyes widen. I didn't even know that Mocking Jays were in the arena.

"I didn't know that they were in the arena." I said and he smiled widely.

"Well, now you know. But if you do get in trouble, just do the four notes and the Mocking Jays will respond to that, I will hear it and it will let Hiccup and I know that you will be back soon." Rue said smiling and I smile back.

"That's the best idea that I have ever heard!" I said before I had started to walk away from them until I felt a hand grabbing mine.

"Please, don't get killed whatever you do." Hiccup said with concern and I had looked at the ground before I turned towards his direction and I give him a tight hug.

"I won't, I promise that." I whispered before I had let go of him and I continued to walk away heading to the Cornucopia. I really hope this does work...

As a few minutes, have gone, I had finally arrived at the Cornucopia where I had seen all the supplies in a big pyramid shape and as well as that, I see that the Careers were snuggling in their little camp area. It's the perfect time to make the explosion. But I must wait for the first point to smoke...

After a few moments of waiting, I saw that they have put the first point on fire and that had corrupted the Career's which had made me sigh of relief. At least they are taking the bait.

"You stay here as the rest of us go check it out..." Cato said to the boy and he nods before they all go off into the forest.

Easy as 1,2,3...

As I see them go off, the biggest smirk spreads onto my face and I had grabbed one of my arrows left from my quiver and I had positioned it on my bow. 'Now... Where is a good source for it to explode?' I thought to myself as I kept looking at the sources when I had noticed a bag of green and red apples.

Perfect...

As I had aimed the bow and the arrow towards the bag of apples, I had breathed in and out deeply just like I did in the forest when I was little.

"Astrid what are you doing?" Alex said giggling as she held her bow and arrow.

"I am just focusing." Astrid said back as she had hit the target that she wanted.

"Do it for Alex..." I whispered to myself before I had aimed at the bag of apples and it have a rip in the bag, but it wasn't enough.

'So, close...' I whispered again before I had aimed another arrow towards the bag, and just a couple of moments later, I had let the arrow fire and the rip in the bag had become big enough for the apples to come out, and one by one, they all jump from box to box and the biggest explosion had happened around the trap, making me fall back to the ground and to watch the explosion, it was so worth it.

I guess the plan did work...
