Y/n POV

"Gilinsky, truth or dare?" Johnson asks with a slight hint of boredom.

"I don't know, dare?" He says more of a question than an answer.

"Umm how about uhh..." Johnson thinks for a dare but it's hard when most of them have already been done.

"Guys this is boring now. Can we do something else?" Nash says, seeing how bored we all are.

"Yeah but what else is there to do?" Cameron says thinking about all of the other things we have already done.

"Let's go to the pool." Taylor suggests.

"It's 10°c in London at 12am, are you out of your mind?!" Matt says, clearly annoyed and just as bored.

"Or maybe we could just go sleep?" Aaron pipes in.

"Huh, are you kidding me?! It's only 12." Carter says with an obvious tone of irritation, and rather hyper as well.

"Let's play hide and seek." Hayes idiotically recommends.

"What are we, 5?" Nash asks sarcastically.

"No, but I'm sure that's the number of your IQ." Hayes fights back.

"Peak Nash, you just got burned by your younger brother."  Mahogany says and the room irrupts with laughter.

"How about we play hide and seek but in the dark. We can use the whole hotel, even though it's actually quite small. I'm a hundred percent sure that it's just us here because we're in the middle of nowhere and barely anyone works here. So let's just ask the receptionist to give us the master key or something so we can access everywhere. We can ask her to shut off the base lighting thing as well and there won't be any light from outside apart from the moon." Shawn says, with an actually great idea. I haven't heard that good of an idea from Shawn since I can remember. And that's a long time because Shawn and I have been best friends for ages. Best friends, nothing more.

"Yeaahhhh, that would be so cool." I say, finally joining in the conversation.

"Alright let's go."

---

I don't know where I am. I just known that it's a really good hiding spot since Shawn hasn't found me yet. But then again, I don't think he's found anyone.

It's completely dark and there are no windows where I am. All I can hear is my breathing and the ticks of my watch. My eyes start to get heavy until I hear the door nob rattling. And then I hear a thud further away and footsteps fading in the distance.

"Guys I give up!" I hear a faint shout. That's my cue to go back to our hotel room.

The lights turned on and I realise I'm in a closet full of toiletries. I start to run back to the hotel room until I pass by a staircase with a sign above it.

'Rooftop'

I can't help but be curious, so I inch towards the steps. Rooftops are always amazing. With each step I take, my mind thinks about what would be up there. Maybe I'm exaggerating. Maybe there's nothing at all up there. But my eyes widen as I reach the top. It's nothing you would expect to see from a 4 star hotel, in the middle of nowhere.

My eyes travel to the pool with the bright moon reflecting on it. And the stars shimmering in the sky. It reminds me of when Shawn and I would run around at night and jump in the nearby lake. The times we had.

I take out my phone to see 25 missed calls and 43 messages from all the guys. Meaning better get back to the hotel room.

---

"Oh look! Princess is back. Took you long enough, y/n." Gilinsky says.

"Sorry, I got... caught up in... something?" I say more of a question.

"Well that game of hide and seek was a fail... We shouldn't have chose Shawn to seek first." Cameron says.

"Ha ha ha very funny Cam. It's not my fault you guys hide really well." Shawn says. I'm pretty sure it's him and his bad seeking skills' fault.

Suddenly the lights go out.

"What the hell, put the lights back on!"

"I can't see anything, open the curtains."

"Oh my lord, even outside is completely dark. What happened to the moon."

"Can someone just put the lights on?!"

"The switch isn't working."

And then chaos starts. Everyone is screaming and no one can be heard properly.

Someone brushes their hand against mine and shivers are sent down my spine. They hold my hands in theirs while everyone else is still yelling. But this feeling in my stomach is muffling all sounds out. Just me and this person. One of the ten boys, most likely.

Their right hand moves to my waist and pulls me closer. He lets go of my other hand to tilt my head up. I have a feeling this is wrong not knowing who this person is. My mind is telling me to pull away but my heart says stay where you are. Don't ruin this special moment. The heart wants what it wants.

I can tell he's getting closer by his breathing sounding louder and closer, every millisecond. I close my eyes and wait for what comes next. Soft lips reach mine and I move my lips along with his. Of course sparks erupt in my stomach, just as every other girl would say. But it feels more than that. It feels like time is endless and nothing else matters in the world. Another thing any other girl would say. You never really know how it feels unless you feel it yourself.

And soon our lips part. Everything is still blocked out apart from me and him. He grabs my hand an slowly backs away...

"Just know I love you... Hmmm I wonder who turned off the lights..." he whispers. An unrecognisable voice.

My hand releases with his and everything is back to normal. Apart from the fact that the lights are out and everyone is shouting.

"Someone just go tell the receptionist that the lights are out!"

A couple minutes pass and the lights are on. I look around to see everyone relieved and I catch Shawn's eye. I stare at him with a smirk on his face and he winks at me leaving my thoughts running wild.

It was him.
