We are resuming this story based off of epilogue 2. They are now in college, attending UCLA. Remember, Jack is a year ahead of her. This is all you need to know right now, everything else should be explained the more you read. Also I'm going to be writing this book in a sense where you don't necessarily need to read the first book, but I highly recommend you do. If you have any questions though, and start to become confused at anytime because you skipped the first book. Leave a comment or pm me and I will try to answer all questions in full. Thank you

"I can't believe today's really the day!" My mom spoke as she helped to carry boxes into my new dorm.
"I know, it's all surreal." I exclaimed
My mom set the last few boxes down in the corner of the room along with the rest of the boxes before placing herself next to me.
"Well Amber, I know we've never had the best relationship- but I just want to say that I am very proud of you. You worked so hard to get here and you deserve to celebrate this achievement. I know you won't believe it, but I really am going to miss you." She said as she wrapped her arms around me, engulfing me in a big hug.
I hesitantly placed my arms around her, feeling uncomfortable with this sense of affection in which she was offering me.
Don't get me wrong- her words meant something to me. She's never once in her life told me that she was proud of me, or that she'd miss my presence. So hearing those words come from her mouth, made me feel a sense of happiness.
It was a dull sense of happiness, but it was still there. I just wish she was always like this, especially when I was growing up. Then maybe I'd actually feel a sense of sadness to leave her behind and start this new life of mine.
"Thank you mom, that really means a lot." I spoke offering her a faint smile in return.
She soon let's go of my body before stepping back in order to create some distance between us; clearing her throat in the process.
"Okay, well, I suppose I should get going. It's a long drive back to Omaha." She suggested causing me to nod my head in agreement.
"Would you like my help with setting up the decorations in your room before I leave?"
My eyes quickly scanned the room, seeing all the major things set up already. She's been a great help with my bed and all the large appliances, but I'm pretty sure I can decorate my room myself- without her.
"Um, no it's okay. I think I can get Jack to help me with the little things. Thanks though ." I smiled in response.
She nodded her head in understanding before grabbing her things and walking towards the door, having me follow close behind.
"Don't be a stranger! Have fun and tell jack I said hello." She spoke as she now stood in the doorway from the hall.
"Ok. I will make sure to let him know, have a safe trip back."
She smiled in response, before turning away from me and beginning her journey down the hall.
I watched as she walked down the hall and out of my sight, taking my childhood and everything I once knew with her.
