I don't know why but I was really worried about Edward. Giving his life for his mate, it really was strange. Now that Aro had refused to kill him, he probably was going home back to his coven, so there was no reason to be worried. But this wierd feeling that something was going to happen didn't go away.

As soon as he had rushed out, probably in anger, Aro had made Felix and Demitri follow him. I do not have any idea in the slightest, how he hoped the plan to work. I mean Edward could read their mind and immediately know that they were following him but he could be in danger of them overpowering him, that was one of the reasons why I was anxious. Even though Felix was not included in the 'elite' part of the Volturi gaurd, Aro still kept him around because of his strength and Dimitri. . .he could track him from anywhere.

I guess I was concerned because he was different from the rest of the people I've met. When I was young, even though my memory was hazy, I remember people generally avoided me and stayed away, whenever they saw me walking by they stage-whispered to each other. It was loud enough for me to hear but I really couldn't get why they did that. After my parent's death, my grandma locked me in the house and didn't let me go out. And after the changing I didn't really think of humans as people with lives anymore all I could see when I looked at them was food. I knew they were the prey and I was the hunter and a hunter never interacts with the prey he just takes the gun and shoots him. That's why my only company was the Volturi guard especially Jane and Alec. The rest of them were together only because of their obsession with power. If it wasn't for Jane and Alec I would probably leave the guard and go by myself. . .

As soon as the thought came to my mind, I pushed it away. I knew Aro would kill me, more of he would dispose me, if he ever knew. Frowning to myself, I went straight from the castle turret to the library without asking Aro's permission. I could faintly make out Jane calling my name but I still didn't stop. It was as if my body was moving on its own.

The castle was divided into many parts and the library was in the northern tower just next to the turret. As soon as I reached it, I saw the ancient wooden door with intricate gold patterns on it. I pushed the door and went inside. There were bookshelves going sky high, with many kinds of books stacked in them. New, old, thick, thin, just name it. There were even books from Ancient Greece and Rome.

Walking towards the nearest shelf, I picked a book and kept it delicately against my chest. Breathing in the scent musty scent of the old paper calmed my nerves. The scent reminded me of gentle rain falling on roses or the reminiscent of candle lit libraries in snowy days.

I signed and sat down on a armchair nearest to me. I flipped through the pages not really looking into it.

After listening to Edward talk about his Coven as if they were related to him by blood, I really wanted to meet them. If I had known about someone like them I never would have come here but whatever mistake I had done I couldn't correct it.

And about that human, Bella. . . I didn't even know how to describe it. When Edward talked about Bella, he made it seem as if his whole world revolved around Bella and just her alone. Even though he was trying to hide his emotions, I still could see the pain in his eyes, as if he was going through a living hell. It was like she was his half, and he was ready to give his life, family and everything just to join her in the world after death.

I didn't realize that I was just staring at the door until I saw it open. I was going to take it as my cue to leave, simply to see that it was Alec standing there his face a mask, devoid of any emotion. But as soon as he saw me his emotionless face broke into a mind-blowing smile.
