I let the steering wheel roll between my soft grip as I turned left onto Neymar's street.

It had been a week since I came down on Neymar the way I did, which left me time to think. Enough time to realize that I was in the wrong.

On the plane ride to Brasil, I was less excited than I had been in previous years, knowing that I had wedding duties to fulfill.

Don't get me wrong, I love doing all of this. Except that weddings are taken very, very seriously by my family. With over 100 first and second cousins, alone, we were destined to have a full house. Not to mention the fact that we had Zico's family involved.

Part of me was still surprised that Katilina was still going through with this as I drove through the industrious cityscape.

It seemed a little impulsive to just drop by Neymar's hometown like that. But I needed to, I didn't know where he would be for the rest of vacation besides wedding duties and New Year's parties. I remember Nadine telling me a few years back that he only dropped by his childhood town so often.

So Andrew texted him earlier, asking what he was doing. Neymar replied saying that he was in his 'birthplace', which was a strange term to call it if you ask me. I had no other choice than to talk to him face to face, text wouldn't do it, and I was still working on my impulsive nature.

So I had a little room left for error.

I grew nervous as I pulled up to the home that he grew up in, which was modestly sized. Truth be told, Neymar knew a lot about my past, but I never knew much about his.

I sighed, pulling the keys from the ignition of my FIAT, locking the door as I wobbled to the front door.

Neymar Sr. still owned rights to the home, since he wanted to keep it as 'an ode to success'. Lionel told me that whenever Ney was in Brasil, that's where he'd go for a few hours.

For whatever reason.

I knew he was here.

I gulped, knocking on the door as the humid air caused my hair to frizz up. The cool breeze enveloped my face, sending a sweet smell of pastries filling my nostrils. I had no speech prepared, I just wanted to let it out without having words inhibit me.
