John Watson returned the next day, not only because he wanted to check on his friend (which I'm sure that was the main reason, I'm sure) but because he was also just plain nosy. It was quite early in the morning, well I say early. It was 11. But in yours and Sherlock's defence you both had been up quite late discussing things. It was a bit of a shock for John to find the flat completely empty, or so it seemed. You were both sleeping. He decided to lay in wait until one of you appeared, he figured that could be hours but he could last. He had done so in the past with Sherlock after all. He didn't have to wait long however as Sherlock made an appearance only fifteen minutes later.
"Good morning," John greeted him as he seemed to be at least trying to attain something that would resemble that of a breakfast, but he wasn't sure. Sherlock hummed in respone quietly, not at all surprised at the fact that the Army Doctor was inside of his house. "Soooo, how did it go?"
That man was always much too curious for his own good, if not ignorant, "surely John you can tell by my expression?" He was a little tired at John being so stupid the whole time, it was starting to get old.
"Well I would assume that it went rather badly considering how grumpy you look at this current moment, but then again I could be completely wrong. I mean I usually am and then you scrutinize me on it."
"Correct, and to be honest I thought I was smiling, You can never tell with facial muscles, always confuse me," Sherlock had seemed to be able to assemble a bowl of cereal and an adequite amount of milk by this point so he went and sat down opposite the man he was talking to with his laptop in front of him.
"So are you going to tell me what really happened or are you just going to leave it," John then made a noise that seemed to want to get Sherlock's attention. He looked up.
"We're on hiatus." He said before going to check if Lestrade had texted him at all or not.
"What? I don't understand, you weren't even in a relationship to start off with so how are you on hiatus?"
"Thought you wouldn't understand, as usual." He raised his eyebrows as he chomped through a mouthful of muslei, "We're on hiatus because we're going to see if our realtionship would be any good for the two of us before we proceed. If it isn't, which I highly doubt as I plan for this first date to go smoothly, then we stop and forget this even happened."
"And if it goes well?" John asked, finally feeling like he could take his coat off.
"I thought that would be obvious John." He looked at John's expression, "Seriously? Well, we'd be in a relationship from that moment onwards, I think that it will go that way. If she can stand me at my worst." Sherlock smirked which set off warning bells in John's head.
"Sherlock, no." he said firmly, looking him dead in the eye, " You're not doing that to her, not like you did to Janine."
"Oh finally! He understands something!" He said sarcastically before you decided to make an entrance at the perfect time. You had always managed to do that, it may have been a talent of yours.
"What does he understand?" You asked whilst frowning at the two men seated together. Sherlock's hair was ruffled and his eyes looked like they had sleep in them whereas John had washed and dressed, presumably to come over here. There was a big difference between the two men in appearence it seemed.
"Oh it's nothing to worry about," Sherlock smiled to you through a mouthful of cereal, attractive.
"Right well, I don't believe that. John?" Your eyebrows raised and your expression questioning. If you couldn't get an answer out of the detective you could try the doctor instead you thought.
