"He's here." Said Elizabeta and was about to open the iron door to Ivan when Gabriel pulled her sleeve. He looked kinda distressed and hid behind her, his tiny figure covered completely in her shadow. "Oh, yeah." Elizabeta softly laughed and patted his head. "Don't worry, he's not that scary like he used to be, but if it makes you feel better, you can hide behind me." She said and smiled warmly towards him.
I wish I never saw this warm sunny side of her. It definelty creeps me out.
Elizabeta gently pushed the door and I peaked inside to see Ivan laying on... a king sized bed?!
"Hey... I think we shouldn't have hurried this much." I said, shacking my head.
"Why?" She asked and tilted her head to see. "Huh?!" Was her response.
She went inside with a heavy step, looking over Ivan with a death glare. Surprisingly enough, he didn't seem in a bad shape and I'm hella sure this isn't another illusion.
"Hey there, mister Goody Goody." She said with a sinister tone. "I get dragged here for torture, while you sleep comfortably?" After Ivan didn't respond to her, she grabbed the sheets and pulled him off the bed.
"The hell's wrong with you?" He yelled and rubbed his back.
"Listen here you little runt." Elizabeta said and grabbed him by the collar. I heard a low ruffle somewhere and saw Gabriel hidding behind something. Seems like she noticed too and let out a sigh. "I'm gonna let you off the hook this time." She said and stepped away. "By the way, how are you all healed up and this fancy room?" She asked and raised her eyebrow.
"Honestly, I don't know. I woke up in this room and when I didn't feel any hostile intent I went back to rest up. Guess they healed me up here." He said and raised his hands in defeat. "I thought you guys sent me here."
"No, we didn't." I said and went towards him. "We were held prisoners here, just a couple of rooms away from here,also..." I looked towards Gabriel, who shifter from leg to leg out of nervousness, but then I decided to ignore him. "Forget it."
"Ah, sorry." He said and stood up. "I guess we have to leave then? Or the usual?" He said and gave Elizabeta the sinister 'you-know-what-i-mean' look. She seemed thrilled for a second before I refused.
"No way in hell."
"But why?" Elizabeta asked disappointed.
"Did you forget? We were about to get tortured, and I'm tired too." I said and nodded towards Gabriel. "Him too."
"Oh, yeah.. " Elizabeta looked towards Ivan and raised her eyebrow. "I'm waiting."
"I'm on it." Ivan said with a feel-less smile and started chanting something under his nose. I guess he's doing some kind of those spells or thingy. Not long after that, we were teleported in some forest.
"You suck as ever." Elizabeta said.
"Excuse me, you know how bad I am at this. I just teleport to the nearest known place to me."
"I wouldn't call this 'known'." She scolded him.
There was a different feeling to her after she gained some of her memories. She became more confident and less jumpy when Ivan was around. That was a good sign.
"I guess they're going along now." Said Gabriel, hiding behind me.
"Yeah."
A sigh escaped me as I followed Ivan and Elizabeta towards the unknown woods. I couldn't help but smile every time they bickered at each other. It seems Gabriel did that too.
It kinda made me happy though. Seeing him smile.
His smile was bright and warm, his eyes sparkling.
"I wish I could see them again." He whispered. "My friends."
"Of course you can!" I said. I couldn't help myself but to cheer him up. "Right, Elizabeta?"
She looked around and her eyes met Gabriel. She smiled gently and waved her hand towards him. "I can't wait to see the others .eating you." She said with a grin. (Quick A/N from future me: Don't ask me why its says eating but I don't remember what it was supposed to be)
"Oh, guys?" Said Ivan and stopped midway.
"Yeah?" Both me and Elizabeta asked.
"Who are you talking to? I don't see any one except us here." Ivan looked around, even skipping Gabriel who was now standing infront of him.
"What do you mean? Gabriel's right here." Elizabeta said and pointed at him.
That was it...
That's when we realised it.
"But Gabriel is long dead, what are you taking about?" Ivan was confused and looked at us as if we just lost our minds.
Elizabeta looked at me. Asking for conformation. When I didn't answer, she knew what was up.
"Forget it." Was all she said to Ivan.
She looked at Gabriel, who was now slowly walking towards me, his head bent down, unable to look us in the eyes.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier. I was too afraid to lose you." He said, his voice faint and cracking. "I'm sorry."
I went down on my knees and nodded to Ivan to continue without me. He only looked puzzled, but then he shrugged and continued walking. Then I looked at Gabriel and patted his head. He jumped a little under my touch, but then relaxed.
"Even though I didn't know you, I'm sure you would have been a great friend to me in the past." I said and smiled.
I don't want to do this.
I stabbed the little boy through the chest using only my hand.
I hate this.
I could feel his unbeating heart between my hand.
Please make me stop.
I pulled his small heart out. Gabriel didn't scream, I didn't even hear his voice. "Forgive me." Was all I could say before I snatched his heart out.
Why was I gifted with this?
I could feel the boy dying between my arms, even though he was long dead. That was why he hasn't changed. That's why only we could see him. He was a lost soul.
One that didn't found closure and it was up to me...
To steal him away.
I could just feel how his soul became weaker every second, my hands absorbing it slowly.
I've done it so many times, yet way is it always so hard on those lost soul?
Why was it supposed to be a kid after all this time?
