~•Paul's POV•~

I knocked on her door with my guitar on my shoulder. She quickly opened the door and smiled. "Come in."

The blunette led me to the same couch from before. When I sat down, she quickly ran to her kitchen. The area was behind the sofa, and only blocked off by a wall slab. I could still perfectly see her and what she was doing if I wanted to.

Dawn was wearing a black crop top and white high waisted jeans. Her hair was up in a messy bun, but she looked extremely uncomfortable and sad.

She quickly ended our silence by laughing. "I thought you weren't going to come."

I blankly sighed. "Long story." I paused. "Gary Oak says hi."

She giggled. She seemed to be in a better mood than the last time I saw her. She brought over two bowls of food. "So, I know you're not into... rice. But, I made Bibimbap because I've been craving my mom's cooking."

Truth is, it smelled really delicious and I was starving. "Cool, what is it?"

"Korean rice with vegetables." She ran over to the kitchen again. "Do you want a fork or chopsticks?"

I exhaled. "What are you using?"

"Chopsticks." She yelled back.

"Okay then, I'll try them too."

She sat back on the sofa handing me the chopsticks. I tried to take a bite of it, but let's be honest here. I'm awful with chopsticks.

She instantly took my hands, being the observant girl she is, and talked me through on how to use the utensil correctly. I was so embarrassed. When I took my first bite, I couldn't even make eye contact with this girl.

"Eoddo--How is it?" She stuttered.

"It's great," My eyes averted hers best they could.

Then, sweet silence.

"So I finished our song." She had said.

I impulsively mimicked my friend, Drew. "Uh oh."

She punched me lightly in the arm, lightly giggling, causing me to stifle a laugh as well. She ripped a page out of her journal and handed me a page with the music and my name written on it. I took it, puzzled.

"Do you want the anti part or the love part?" My eyes traced her gorgeous ocean orbs.

"The love?" I asked, more to myself than the girl. When she nodded, I felt as if I was being magnetically pulled to her. She crept back slightly, but my hand reached out to softly grab her cheek. Our noses were just touching when I received a call, Dawn jumping at the noise.

When I answered it, the girl took our plates to the kitchen without a word. "Hello?"

"DUDE!" I jumped. It was Gary. "It's eight, where are you?"

"Crap!" I had promised the boys that I'd go to this party, thrown by some girl Gary had a crush on. I wasn't interested in the party scene, but I had made a promise. "I'll be right there." I sighed and hung up, searching the address on my phone. It seemed to be in this neighborhood. Hm, convenient.

"Dawn?"

"Yeah?" I heard a soft response from the kitchen. She sounded even more timid than normal.

"There's this party at some girl's house. I hate to say it, but I promised my friends I'd go. I'll catch you later."

"An- Okay."

She smiled as I approached the door. Realization struck me. "Do you want to come with?"

"No, not really." The blunette responded with ease.

"Neither do I. Come on." I nagged, laughing.

"If you insist." She groaned, rolling her eyes.

~X~

I lost track of Dawn at the party. A few boys greeted her at the entrance and swept her away. I wandered off to find the guys, but I couldn't find them.

In the crowd, I decided to head upstairs to use the restroom. While I was searching, I heard a fight, or at least, something very fishy going on in one of the rooms.

I listened, and found the door from which the noise belonged to. I opened it and found three girls all beating up one. With further inspection I realized it was May Maple and her sleazy lackeys, and the poor girl they had decided to pick on.

"Hey! Break it up! What's going on here?" I yelled, pulling apart the girls. With my actions, I gasped at who the girls had been beating up. It was a crying, and now black eyed Dawn Berlitz.

With the sight, I immediately started yelling at the girls. It was like a reflex, I couldn't even begin to control it. "What is wrong with you?! What did she ever do to you to deserve this?"

The Serena girl started to pipe up. "Well--"

"It doesn't matter. I know Dawn personally, and I know she would never hurt anyone this way. Get over yourselves." I interrupted, pulling Dawn up from the ground, as she clung tight to me crying lightly against my chest. I pulled her in closer as I finished my statement.

When I was finished, we exited the room.

"I'll take you home, Dawn."

"Thank you." She continued to cry. I felt so bad for the girl, I couldn't begin to understand it.

When we walked out the door, a chill hit us, and Dawn began to bawl. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so, so, so sorry."

"It's okay. Those girls are ruthless, it's not your fault." I assured her.

"It is, I do everything wrong."

"No, you don't."

"I don't?" She asked. I had decided she may have had something to drink.

"Dawn, did you have anything to drink there?"

"No, just water." She moped. She definitely had something. I think those idiot jocks disguised vodka as water again.

"Okay." I mused. "Can you tell me exactly what happened?"

"Why should I?" She pouted.

"Because Dawn, I'm just trying to understand."

"Oh, that's just like you isn't it?! Just trying to understand..." she mused. "But you know, I've met the real you. The mean, cold, heartless guy who likes to make fun of my race. But you know, I call bullshit!"

Everything she was saying was obviously true, to her at least. But, I wasn't hurt. I was solely focused on getting the girl home. "Dawn--"

"No!! No! No! No!" The bluenette began to run, but she was completely imbalanced and fell to the sidewalk. I moved closer to the girl, a great deal of shock came to me when she didn't recoil.

She blacked out.

I was trying so hard not to panic. I scooped her up and walked home, praying one, that no one saw. Two, that her front door was open. And three, she wouldn't wake up. This was too embarrassing...
