Snow POV
I was asleep when I felt my entire body ache. It felt like venom was coursing through my veins. My cat, Tikki, jumped as I jerked my body upright. I knew something was wrong. I looked down at my necklace, and the white diamonds were turning a dark purple. I atomically knew it had something to do with Marinette. More specifically, I knew what was happening.
"Go now." I heard the ancestor Ladybugs whisper, but I couldn't see them.
I slipped on my gray shoes, not bothering to change out of my black sweatpants and t-shirt, and grabbed my phone before running out the door.
I clicked a contact on my phone, meaning to call Adrien but calling Alya instead. I pressed the elevator button over and over again waiting for it to open but gave up and started running to the stair well when I heard Alya pick up.
"Snow? It's 2:5-" Alya started to say tiredly but I interrupted.
"It's about Marinette. Something isn't right. Call Nino and Adrien and tell Adrien to get over there the quickest way. I'm on my way over there now!" I stumbled on my words as I stumbled down the eight sets of stairs, two sets for each floor. I fell on one of the lasts steps and scraped my leg. I winced at the amount of pain but kept running.
Once I was at the bottom of the stair case, I ran out the door into the cold air across the empty street.
"What do you mean, is she okay?!" Alya panicked. I could tell she was moving around in a rush over the phone.
"No! Just get over here as soon as you can!" I hung up as I stepped in front of the bakery. I tried opening the door but it was locked so I rush over to the door to the stairs, that being unlocked.
My footsteps echoed as I ran and I sighed in relief as I stood in front of the Dupain-Cheng's home.
I started banging my fist against the door and I could hear shuffling and eventually the door opened. Tom and Sabine were confused and worried about why I was there.
"Snow, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Mrs. Sabine asked, panicked, reaching out to rest a hand on my shoulder. But I ignored them. I walked passed to the staircase to Marinette's room.
"Marinette!" I called up. I didn't get a response. I hurried up the stairs and started knocking on the trap door.
"Marinette! Open the door!" I demanded.
"Snow, dear, what's going on?!" Sabine asked. I looked back for a second to see her holding onto her husband's arm, fear all over her face.
"Something's wrong with Marinette. We need to get her now!" They ran up the stairs too, standing behind me because of the lack of space.
"She broke the key in the lock." I was scared. I didn't know what to do. The only thing I could think of was to break the door.
I rammed my elbow and upper arm against the door over and over again. Tom and Sabine started knocking the door in as well.
Eventually, the door started to break and I was able to rip wood off by hand, leaving enough room for me to climb into Marinette's room, scratching my sides.
She wasn't here. She wasn't in her room. She was already gone.
I climbed the ladder to the loft, to see Tikki crying.
"Oh, Tikki." I muttered in sympathy. She floated closer to me, dragging a paper, and crystal tears falling. I picked Tikki up in my hands and the paper. I quickly read the paper and was completely speechless when I was done reading it. Tikki looked like she was trying to say something but she couldn't choke back the tears. I put Tikki, Tikki's letter, and the earrings in my sweatpants pocket. I started climbing down the ladder but hit my arm against the railing and winced in pain.
