Chapter 8:

Ella's: POV

The morning sunlight cascades through the cave opening and is soothing against my face. I'm hungry. Starving in fact but there's no food in sight, so I grab the rucksack and take the lighter and one of the fishing rods even though I don't know how to fish and go. At this point I don't even know if I'll come back to say goodbye to Luke. But in some ways it's probably easier, I really like him but in a world like ours there's no time for friendship or love only survival. Every day it's the same. Every day we have to battle with nature to survive. I walk towards the forest and begin to search for berries or fruit. I spot a apple tree and pick some, I keep one to eat and place the others in my bag. I see the lake glinting in the distance and walk to it I quickly undress and wash my body and hair. My hair hasn't been brushed for days and its extremely knotty. I get my clothes and soak them to try and clean the mud and dirt off then I place them on the warm pebbles where they will soon dry, I decide to go for a quick swim around the lake whilst my clothes dry and hope that Luke won't suddenly appear. After about ten minuets I get out and put my clothes back on. I grab my backpack and take another apple out to eat. I've made my mind up I'm not going back to the cave I'm just going to go and try and find some civilisation and preferably not Reluquos People. On the way out of the forest a grab some more apples hoping that it will be enough to fuel me until I find somewhere.

Luke's: POV

I'm panicked I can't find Ella anywhere I've searched the river the cave and the forest, she is nowhere to be seen, when I woke up she was gone and she hasn't come back. What if someone's kidnapped her? She can't really have just left without saying goodbye could she? I put my hands to my face. There's nothing I can do now, she's gone and I will probably never see her again in my life. I should have told her that I liked her last night. God I'm so stupid. What am I supposed to do now?! 'Ahhhhh' I shout in exasperation. No one can hear me here I'm all alone. I'm breaking down. What's wrong with me? I walk towards the wall of the cave and punch it, it hurts but I don't register it, I'm so clouded by dark emotions. I used to have everything I could have ever wanted but now it's gone I have holes gaping inside of me and I know I'm crazy but I think Ella's the only one who could fix them. But like usual I've messed up I should have never let her go.

Ella's: POV

I hear three gunshots. I look around frantically searching for the source of the frightening noise but it's nowhere to be seen. I feel a cold hand place on my shoulder and spin around to find a feisty looking brunette grinning murderously, she grabs my shoulders and pushes me onto the floor. I try to push her off but she is much stronger than me which is obvious from her muscular arms that are griping onto my shoulders. She moves her hands to grip my neck slowly tightening harder and harder. A tall man with blonde hair and piercing blue eyes appears next to her, he is holding a frighteningly large gun in his hand.

'Shall I shoot?' He asks.

'Yes now' Says the brunette coldly. I squirm, terrified. My vision is blurring from the lack of oxygen. The man looks at me with slight sympathy.

'No p-please' I say in a chocked voice.

'Im sorry, it's standard procedure' and he shoots straight to my heart.
