"I do."
Carrie felt her stomach flip as the preacher turned towards her. Tears were brimming on the edge of her eyes and she tried hard not to let them fall.
"Carrie, do you take Mike to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"
Carrie took a deep breath, her eyes locked with Mike's. She squeezed his hands as she spoke.
"I do."
"I now pronounce you husband and wife." Their preacher stated, a smile on his face. "You may now kiss the bride."
"Come here beautiful." Mike whispered with a smirk on his face. He pulled her up against him and dipped her back, eliciting a squeal from Carrie as they both giggled at each other.
Carrie felt his his lips against hers as he kissed her with all the passion he had.
"I love you." He pulled away, kissing her once more before standing her back up.
Carrie beamed, trying to find the words to get out.
"I love you more."
Mike couldn't help but smile as he recalled their entire wedding to the blonde sitting in front of him.
"It sounds like a fairytale." Carrie said in awe as she looked through their wedding album and tried to imagine every single detail Mike had said.
"It was pretty similar." He chuckled. "It was more than we ever dreamed of."
"How many people were there?" Carrie looked up from the album, her hand on the photo taken from above the ceremony.
"About 250."
"Wow." Carrie slightly gasped. "That's a lot."
"Is that Brandon Heath?" Carrie turned the page, seeing him up by the band with her and Mike slow dancing in front of them.
"Yes." Mike chuckled.
"Ladies and gentleman, Mr. And Mrs. Mike Fisher!" Carrie felt Mike grab her hand and lead her onto the dance floor. She smiled, seeing Brandon Heath approach the stage.
Mike turned around when he heard everyone gasping and cheering.
"Surprise." Carrie giggled, smiling widely at him when he turned back towards her.
"No way." He was in shock. "You did this?"
"Possibly." She smiled. "I wanted our first dance to be special."
Mike tightened his grip around her waist, pulling her body up against his. "I love you so so much."
As if there was no one for miles, the couple swayed back and forth as Brandon Heath sung Love Never Fails in the background. Their faces were only centimeters apart, neither of them being able to look away from each other. Mike's blue eyes were sparkling as much as Carrie's hazel ones.
As the song came to an end, the couple savored the moment for as long as they could.
Mike kissed his wife softly, letting the kiss linger. "I love you Mrs. Fisher."
Carrie's heart fluttered at the sound of Mrs. Fisher rolling off his tongue, the name she'd been waiting to be called for ages.
"This wedding sounds like more than I ever could have even dreamed as a child." Carrie smiled. Closing the wedding album, she frowned. "I just wish I could remember it all."
"I know, but you will. The doctors said it's most likely not permanent. It'll all come back you just have to give it time." Mike placed his hand on her leg.
"It just sucks. This entire chunk of my life is just gone. Everything you told me has sounded so amazing but it's like I'm listening to some fantasy story. I don't understand why I can't remember it." Carrie's voice hitched as she held back tears. "And you've been so good to me, I don't know how I deserved it all. This has to be so hard on you, I'm sorry."
"Hey hey, don't apologize." Mike lifted her chin with his thumb, looking into her tear filled eyes. "This isn't your fault Carrie. No one is blaming you."
"I know but, I'm putting you through so much. I see it in your eyes every time you look at me that you want to kiss me. I hear you stutter and stop yourself from saying I love you. I know this is killing you." A tear slid down Carrie's cheek and hit the couch.
"It's okay, I promise. I'm not going to make you do or say anything that you're not comfortable with. Don't feel bad please. I just want you to feel comfortable and safe, that's all I want."
Lookkng into his eyes, Carrie wrapped her arm around his neck and kissed him. Mike flinched, shocked by her sudden move. Her lips on his felt like magic after so many days without them.
Mike placed his hand on her cheek, letting their kiss linger as long as possible. Carrie finally pulled away, a smile stretched across her face.
"Even better than our real first kiss."
