*Ring Ring* you phone rung

Your hand lazily flies up and grabs it. Without looking at the contact name, you swipe right and bring the phone to your ear.
"What!?" You say sternly
"Well good morning to you too babe" you heard your boyfriends voice
"Ugh I'm sorry Mark" you apologized
"It's okay, are you excited for our date today, the restaurant is really fancy" he mentions
"Ugh I'm sorry Mark, I know that you've been waiting for this date since forever but I can't make it" you say
"What? Why?" He asks
"I have to stay back after work for a meeting until 2 am" You inform
"Oh..I should go" he sighs
"I'm sorry Mark. I love you. Bye" you say

*Beep Beep Beep* the line goes dead
He must be really sad. You felt bad and as much as you wanted to go on the date, this meeting could be the reason you get to be the next CEO of the company.
'I'll make it up to you Mark. I swear' you think

You get up and get ready for work by taking a shower, getting dressed and applying makeup. You tried to text Mark but he wouldn't answer.

•Time Skip•

You got the promotion! You're the CEO of the company now. You immediately call Mark as soon as the meeting finishes but he didn't answer.
"Oh shoot, I forgot it was 2 o'clock in the morning" you sigh

You get home and jump into bed. You wake up and try to call and text Mark but he just wouldn't answer. An idea pops in your head and you immediately dial a number.

•Mark P.O.V•

Y/N calls and texts me multiple times. I really wanna talk to her but I was just a bit too upset. I was going to propose yesterday but she was busy.

Jackson walks in.
"Mark you should go to the secret lake that you and Y/N had your first date in instead of sulking here" he says
"How to do you know about the lake?" I ask
"Uhhh just go"

•Later•

I just got to the lake. I park my car and walk a bit. I find fairy lights everywhere. A picnic was set in front of the lake just like me and Y/N first date, 4 years ago.

Y/N walks out in a red knee length dress. She smiles at me and walks towards me.
"Mark, I'm sorry I couldn't make it to our date. I know how excited you were for it and I blew you off and I feel horrible. I got promoted as a CEO though and I would trade that position just for your forgiveness" she says
I hug her immediately.
"Of course I forgive you" i say to her
"I love you" she says
"I love you too...which is why I'm going to do this" i get down on one knee
"Y/N Y/L/N...will you marry me?"
