Two years before Thanatos

"Come on Luca!"

"I'm coming! I'm coming!" I hustle over to her.

"What Elicia? Why'd you bring me all the way out here?"

"Luca, I'm in Rifiuto for the first time in three years, I'm leaving in twenty minutes and all I've wanted to do is talk to you but I haven't had the chance, why do you think I've brought you out here!?" I have no response when she gestures to the clearing behind her.

"Remember this place?" She turns around and looks up at the sky. Her voice becomes quieter, more reminiscent. "We used to always come here and just talk, play games or whatever, but now it's nothing but a dump of memories. No one comes here anymore, it's terrible now."

"Yeah..." The place does look like a dump now. My gaze drifts towards her. She looks back and smiles.

"So what was it you wanted to talk about?" I ask abruptly.

"Anything honestly. It's been years since I've seen you. I know you don't have much of one, but you've gotta have some memories in that brain of yours." She laughs and so do I. I didn't realize how much I miss talking to her. Wish this could last forever, but nothing ever can, can it?

"A lot's happened since you last visited. I don't know where to start."

"Well, just pick anything, something random."

"Hmm, let's see... what should I tell you first?" I look up to the sky, almost as if it will have an answer for me.

"Okay, so I've gotten into comics recently."

"Oh, really? You're a big nerd now?"

"Yeah, thanks." She just smiles at me. We find a place to sit and stare at the sky, not knowing what to say. Suddenly we hear shouts from far away.

"Elicia! Where are you?! We're leaving soon!"

"Ugh, I have to leave."

"Aww." I hate it more and more every time she leaves.

"Okay, Let's go Luca. It was amazing seeing you again today. Maybe it won't be so long of a wait until next time. I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too." She gives me a quick hug and starts running towards my house. I follow not far behind. I can't wait until next time Elicia, I really can't.
