Pokémon Delta | Project Dolor Part 1

I wake up more tired than I was going to sleep. Slowly, I roll out of bed. I look at my phone. Saturday. Fireworks go off inside my head. Thankfully, I don't have any weekend shifts at the hospital, so I can just relax today. I do love my job, but it just gets really tiring, so I'm thankful for the rest every weekend. I ignore my mirror that seems to be exaggerating how messy my hair is. When I get into the kitchen there's hot coffee in my mug waiting on the table. I grab my laptop and sit down in front of my coffee. I'm checking my emails as I hear footsteps from the front room.

"Zuri? Are you up?" He's up pretty early.

"Yeah, what are you doing up so early?"

"I could ask the same for you." I smile. "Hey, could you make me a bowl of cereal please? I need to get dressed." I hear Daeshim's feet pounding back up the stairs.

I pour Daeshim some of his favorite cereal and set it on the table. I sit back down as he walks up to me.

"Good morning, beautiful." He leans over and greets me with a kiss on the cheek. I kiss him back. "So how's work been going?" I look back at my laptop.

"It's been alright, just tiring. I've also got loads of emails. I don't know what to do today... Oh! I've got one from Zemke." He sits next to me and grabs his bowl of cereal.

"Okay, what's it say?"

"She's just checking up on us and saying how excited she is for her new job, she's so sweet. Boss says she'll hire Femke soon. One of the nurses retired yesterday too, so Zemke will be taking her place. I know she'll do great, I've trained her well."

"Wow, that's great!" He's already halfway done his bowl. I get up and put my mug in the sink.

"I'll be right back, I need my flash drive from my desk." I walk upstairs and through the office door. I grab the drive from my desk drawer and I see the note under it. What's this for... I was never good at reading cursive. Fo... For L... For Luca... Shit! I forgot to give it to him! I stuff the note in my back pocket and go back downstairs. I stop in the kitchen doorway.
"Remember that Luca kid?" Daeshim turns around in his chair to look at me.

"Yeah, why, what's up?"

"Well I have this note that says "For Luca" on it, but forgot about it and just found it in my drawer. I need to get it to him, who knows when I'll meet him again."

"Well, I hope you find him soon. I've gotta get to work now." He gets up and walks up to me. "Love you." He gives me a quick kiss.

"Love you too!" I return the favor. He walks past me, waves, and goes out the door. I go back to my room, get dressed, and pack my backpack. Well now I at least have something to do this weekend.
