"Mason thanks for caring but I'm seriously not hungry."

"Okay." He said leaving to get his food.

I spot Isabella and her "friends" giving me a dirty look, honestly I'm surprised they haven't approached me today.

Mason comes back with two drinks and two salads.

"I told you, I'm not hungry." I said annoyed.

"Your eating. Why don't you eat?" He asked curiously.

To be honest ever since Isabella called me fat junior year and everyone started calling me names I made sure to stay skinny by not eating a lot, back then I didn't really think I was fat, I honestly thought I was skinny but I guess I don't really know myself as much as I thought.

"I'm just not hungry."

"Can you at least eat this salad please?" He playfully pouted.

"Fine." I rolled my eyes and started to eat the salad.

"Works every time." He smirked.

"Don't ruin it." I said giving him a playful glare.

"So why isn't Melissa here?" He asked looking around.

"She meets up with her boyfriend during lunch since he goes to a different school." I explained.

"Oh okay, so we're having a game in 2 weeks would you like to come?"

"Mason, I already told you how I feel about that." Why did he want me to be there, I don't understand why it was so important for him to have me there?

"Please Ava, you can bring Melissa." He said with a small smile.

"I don't know Mason, you know that people don't really like me here." I said.

"No one bothered you today, right?" He asked, I stood quiet since I didn't want to remember the words people kept calling me during my classes.

Mason immediately got up. "Who the fuck was bothering you?" He said clenching his fists.

"Mason sit down please and no one." I said quickly before he got himself in trouble.

"That's why you were so upset in class, right? I'm giving you ten seconds to tell me the truth, Ava." He said in a demanding voice.

"I didn't see who said it but I just kept hearing names..." I mumbled.

"Can you go more into detail?" He said crossing his arms.

"I heard people calling me names like a whore and saying that I tried to commit suicide for attention." I mumbled looking down.

He sat down and grabbed my chin bringing it up to look at him. "They are all jealous." He said trying to comfort me.

"Jealous about what? I just don't understand, why. I don't have the nicest clothes, I'm not pretty, I barely have any friends, what's to be mad about?" I said letting out everything on my chest.

"You're beautiful Ava, I swear you are." He said staring at me as if I was everything.

"Your blind Mason." I said while laughing awkwardly.

"Your even more blind, if you can't see how beautiful you are." He said, the bell rang and I'm dreading going to class.

"Let's do something after school, wanna come over? My mom's making dinner and I'm being forced to be there." He asked if meeting his parents was nothing important.

"How about if your parents don't like me." I said nervously.

"Well my mom is begging for me to tell her more about the person I have been visiting at the hospital, so it would be perfect for her to see for herself." He shrugged.

"I-"

"Meet me outside after school beautiful." He winked while walking away, I honestly hate him so much sometimes, He's always interrupting me.

I walked outside the cafeteria to see Isabella walking up to me by herself.

"You might have everyone fooled but not me." She said giving me a dirty look.

"I didn't do anything." I said with a little confidence.

"Oh so Ava has balls now?" She said laughing hysterically.

"You knew Mason was mine and you stole him from me!" She yelled causing a scene.

I see the boy from the carnival, Ash I think, come up to us.

"Isabella leave her the fuck alone." He said, surprisingly defending me.

"Ash, she's not who you think she is, she's brainwashing all of you guys."
She said glaring at me.

"Isabella your a real bitch, I heard that the day Ava tried to commit suicide you told her to kill herself, you know that can get you in some real trouble right?" He said, which shocked me.

Everyone saw what was happening that day but no one really heard what she said.

I saw Mason behind me, his face in shock as he heard what Ash said.

"You fucking bitch! She was in a coma for a whole month because of you and you have the nerve to come face her again." He said with a very scary face which had Isabella scared out of her mind.

"Ava go to class, okay?" He said calmly.

I quickly nodded my head and walked as fast as I could, since I didn't want to be on his bad side, which was really scary.

I walked into class as the bell rang and couldn't focus at all, why did he want me to leave? I don't want to get anyone in trouble.

School finally ended and I'm kind of debating If I should meet Mason outside, I walked to my locker and grabbed some homework and shoved it in my bag.

I closed my locker to see Mason leaning on the locker next to me with a smirk.

"Your such a creep." I rolled my eyes.

"Only for you." He winked with a smile, and suddenly I remembered what happened earlier.

"What was that about earlier? Mason" I asked.

"I have no clue what your talking about." He shrugged, while walking away, I stood there staring at him, confused.

"Are you coming?" He asked turning around, I started walking up to him slowly.

"Can you tell me? Please." I asked.

"Ava, I just told her not to look at you, or talk to you and warned her that If I hear your name from her mouth, I'll ruin her myself." He said with a shrug.

"I have a feeling that you didn't say it like that and your missing some stuff." I said.

"You wouldn't want to know what I really said." He shrugged.

I became quiet, not wanting to know anymore.

We got inside his car and he started to drive to his house.

"So how's your mom like?" I asked nervously.

"She's nice." He shrugged while driving.

"Nice? I think I need more than that." I said with a laugh.

"Relax, she's going to love you." He said with a smile.
