"Call it again," Scott ordered his friends, coming out from under his bed

"Call it again," Scott ordered his friends, coming out from under his bed. The underside of his bed was a complete mess and he thought that maybe he'd be able to find the phone that he'd lost. But not there. Scott was making Stiles and Carver held him look for it, but they gave up a good hour ago.

Carver clicked the green call button on her phone and they listened for a few seconds, but there was nothing. No ringing, no vibrating, nothing.

Carver's neck was covered by a blue turtleneck sweater, so that they wouldn't see the bruises scattered across it. She couldn't let Scott and Stiles see that. She didn't want to answer questions, or have them pity her. She didn't want to see them herself. Her voice was still a little tight, like her neck was dented or something.

"It's not here." Stiles tried to convince him like he has been for the last half hour, but Scott didn't listen. Carver nodded in agreement and pushed her phone back into her back pocket. "Okay, so you lost your phone. Why don't you just get a new one?"

"I can't afford a new one! And I can't do this alone. We have to find Derek." Scott told them. He cast a glance at Carver. "Have you been trying him?" He asked, back stepping to his desk.

Carver nodded. "Tried everything. No answer." And she doubted he would answer her. They'd have better luck with the Argents calling, she thought.

"You also have us!" Stiles reminded him. "Didn't you say Derek walked into gunfire? He sounds pretty dead." Stiles shrugged.

     "Doubt he's dead," Carver whispered.

Scott nodded, "Carver's right. The Argent's and Alice's plan was to use him to get to get to the alpha. They're not gonna kill him." Carver looked down at her lap and her shoulders slumped. "I'm sorry, Carver."

All she did was shake her head. "No, don't hold back. You're right."

Scott nodded. "Okay. Then we have to let them do what they're planning."

"Wait, what?" Carver looked up. "No. They're going to go as far as kill him to find Peter. Sorry, but I don't want to see Derek dead. I don't want to see anyone dead."

"They need to find Peter and kill him. Problem solved," Stiles shrugged.

Scott turned to him. "Not if Peter's going after Allison to get Derek." Peter was also going after Carver, but they didn't need to know that.

"Not if Derek's dead. Or going to die," Carver repeated. "Incase you forgot, he's been trying to help you, us, with almost everything."

Scott sighed and ran into his bathroom. He went through his laundry basket, tipping it over and throwing his clothes everything along the tiles. He grabbed random clothes and threw them over his head, out of the bathroom. Carver and Stiles watched in defeat.
