"Wait, Goldenglow Estate?!"
"Yes, you did say she was quiet the 'potential'?"
"But she is new in our ranks and even our Vex could barely get out of there"
"I'm the guild master and I get to decide what our new recruits will do and won't, are we clear?"
"Yes...Mercer"
"Good, now off you go. And don't screw this up"
The guild master Mercer Frey threw the orders and left. The newly recruited female was indeed a little confused on why they spoke about this estate with such fear.
"Now I need you to listen to me very closely lass" Brynjolf said, sounding serious that he rarely did and the shadow of urgency in his eyes that rarely ever appeared
"What's the big deal about this place anyway?" (Y/n) almost laughed the way the thief spoke
"This place is surrounded by mercenaries, and not just anyone. Blackbriars hired these dogs and they'll stop at nothing to keep you out... even if that meant killing you... nobody would like that..." Brynjolf said as he walked closer to her, hinting something that she didn't understood or deliberately didn't want to
"Oh? But I just saw that almost every member in this guild that I spoke with were either dead rude to me or so quiet that they didn't even care to look at me. Though if by 'anybody' you meant an auburn haired robinhood who called me 'lass' every few moments then..." she mocked and took a few steps back, resting her back on the wall and crossing her arms over her chest. A certain look in her eyes that made the auburn haired thief both agitated and tempted to a certain desire at the same time
"Damn it woman, that's not what I meant!" Brynjolf rolled his eyes, trying to hide the fact that she made him blush
"Then? What did you mean?" She questioned playfully.
Brynjolf felt challenged but he didn't feel offended or angry at the feeling but strangely amused by it. The thief stepped uncomfortably closer to the female, almost entangling her legs to his and with a smug smile he said
"I simply meant...take care of yourself doll face, so that we can continue this fight to a much wilder extent" his voice was quiet and raspy this time, almost sending goosebumps all over the woman and reddening her cheeks. The smile on her face died out as she understood what he meant "mmh we'll see about it" (y/n) frowned and shoved him aside before walking away a little angry
"Of course we will lass" he smiled to himself as she walked away from him.
"This chamber is flooding with water! We need to get out of here!" Karliah shouted as she desperately looked for a way to get out of the falmer cave that was now filling up with water and if nothing was done quickly, they would drown and killing their enemy after all these efforts would be for naught.
It's been a long time since (y/n) joined the guild, and even is one of the chosen of Nocturnal, the daedric prince of shadows. After becoming a high ranking member and a nightingale, she and Brynjolf got to know each other pretty well. But the auburn haired man didn't want that friendship that was developing to something more to end this way. Drowned in a cave. It was kind of ironic but sad at the same time.
"I will look for an escape, you wait here with (y/n)!" Karliah said and prepared to teleport herself away from here
"Wait! You're just leaving us here?! To possibly die?!" Brynjolf almost shouted
"I said, I'm going to look for an escape! Now please do not question me, as it would make our death more likely to happen" the dark elf replied and left as soon as she left as soon as she finished speaking her words.
The water had reached up to the neck and there was only Brynjolf and (y/n) waiting for the dark elf.
"God this is useless!" (Y/n) said, clearly afraid now
"I say we look for our own escape, we might need to do some swimming" Brynjolf was himself doubtful of their lives now
"I'm a horrible swimmer... I might...hey! Wait!" (Y/n) couldn't even finish her words and just then the thief swam underwater and she had to follow him.
He should've listened to her, because the moment (y/n)'s head went underwater, she panicked and began to struggle.
Brynjolf didn't notice her for a moment, because he had found a small cavity in the cave wall that could easily lead to the tunnels outside the cave. He looked behind to inform (y/n) of the discovery and was surprised to see her struggle to swim.
Without a moment's delay, he reached for her and grabbed her by her waist then quickly swam out of the room.
Now safely reached at the tunnel of the cave, they both fell on the ground gasping for air after their stay in water. They didn't even notice the matter that how Brynjolf lay on top of the female. It wasn't his fault, he needed to save her and thus ended up being in such amorous position.
Though it was Brynjolf who noticed their state and snickered, and hearing him the female sighed "oh goodness we are alive, I owe you my life for saving me" she said and looked at the male, finally realizing the truth and blushing
"Owe me huh? Say we didn't continue the fight of that day did we?" Brynjolf said mischievously
"Umm...n-no..." the female looked away, trying to hide her flushed face
"And especially not to that 'wilder extent'?" He added with a smirk and slyly reached for her abdomen under her drenched clothes
"You're hilarious Bryn!" (Y/n) laughed at his words and gently placed a kiss on his lips, probably accepting the suggestion of the 'wilder extent'
