{Note: the following chapter has a dark theme, nothing too explicit or mature but it's just dark and maybe scary to read.}

The jester quietly listened, as the guild leader Astrid spoke with someone, the other person was too quiet to guess who they were. This, could be considered a deftness of him, to act like a crazy jester when people were around but in reality he was completely aware of what was going on around him.
"I want this woman dead, one way or the other!" bitter words came from Astrid, unusual from someone who acts so smug and all knowing. Followed by inaudible muttering before they were interrupted by her commands "I'm well aware, husband! I know that four assassins have already failed to complete their tasks but I trust a werewolf can do a better job" it was now clear that it was Arnbjorn who had to deal with this woman's temper now.
Cicero smiled to himself as he got up from his knees, glancing at the unholy matron's coffin once before looking at the dagger that was stabbed into the table with a contract. The jester pulled out the short blade and hid it under his sleeves before walking out from the chamber with his usual happy personality that would fool everyone.
"Astrid! Arnbjorn! What a sweet little couple! But having such a nasty little argument!" Cicero shouted, followed by a little giggle. The assassin couple were startled by such an unexpected appearance of the jester in red
"Cicero? What are you doing here?"
"Yeah, thought ya were praying to your night mother" both of them spoke, almost at the same time
"Ah poor Cicero would have stayed by his mother's side..." his smile grew faint and his voice grim "if not for the rude... interruption" he giggled again but not really the adorable one he usually does.
The couple stared at him until the jester himself broke the silence
"Did I scare you?" Cicero smiled sinisterly before laughing out loud again "I jest of course! But Cicero is curious about what are you two fighting over..." he didn't even wait to finish his words before he pushed them aside and was surprised to see the picture on the wooden table.
A picture was sketched of a woman with the most innocent of face, staring at something faraway. The woman's long hair was decorated in many unknown flowers and even though it was just a drawing, it almost looks like her eyes are real as if reflecting emotions.
"My my..." the jester raised a brow at the picture, he smiled to himself and admired "Cicero is unsure of who he should praise... the painter who did this marvelous work or the woman with such a face" he muttered, for once his voice didn't sound high pitched or anything, but almost serious, definitely a bit malicious and attractive with the slight touch of raspiness.
Even Astrid was surprised to hear it as such.
"She is a simple villager, not a hero or warrior. Even I don't know why would anyone want this woman dead, she is near to being insignificant to cause any serious harm" Astrid answered the unspoken question
"And moreover, brutally mutilated..." Arnbjorn added
"Sometimes, simplicity itself arouses jealousy and hatred..." Cicero replied smiling, refusing to avert his gaze from the sketch "Cicero would like the honor to kill her..." he chuckled quietly.
Astrid and Arnbjorn looked at each other for a few moments before she agreed to let jester take the job for this assassination, Cicero simply laughed and quietly walked away. The very display of this darker side of his personality was chilling, as soon as he left, it felt like the chamber was slowly growing lighter.
The jester knows how to make someone laugh, but surely he has a knack for taking it back as well.

Ivarstead was perhaps a fairly low populated place, well, Skyrim herself has a fairly low population compared to other provinces but something about this hamlet was different.
As if being at the foot of the tallest mountain and being surrounded by bear territories wasn't bad enough, this place even has ghosts haunting it's ruins and now the Dark Brotherhood has their attention here.
Cicero had to hide in the shadows or disguise himself to find his prey, but when he did, it felt like all that effort was worth it.
The female lived in an isolated part of the village and from the looks of it, she lived alone. A perfect and easy prey, but it almost hurt the jester's heart to attack such a defenseless and beautiful woman "Isn't it sweet? We haven't even spoke yet but your beauty was enough to make an assassin's heart melt..." Cicero muttered and chuckled, watching the female from a distance "Ah.. sweet little prey, I cannot harm you, but I sure can admire you... from close" a sly smile curled up his lips as he sneakily approached the female, putting an illusion on her, causing her to faint.
The jester smiled and picked her up, before leaving for his destination.

The sounds of a knife sharpening woke her up, opening her (e/c) eyes, she gazed around desperately trying to recognize the place. Alas all she could see was the icy walls of a... cave.
"Where am I?!" she almost shouted, jumping down from the old wooden table she was laid upon, attracting the jester's attention who was but a few feet away from her
"Calm down now... everything is perfectly okay! Hehe!" Cicero giggled as he walked towards the female, as if overjoyed to see her awaken
"Who...are you? Why am I here?!" she panicked and took a few steps back, before she hit her back harshly against the icy wall.
Cicero smirked and walked towards her "they wanted to kill you... to wear your pretty guts around their necks!" he started, widening his eyes and making gestures with his hands as if narrating a story "but Cicero saved you! Yes he did! he wouldn't let them hurt you, no one can hurt you... except me... but Cicero wouldn't do that, oh no!" The female didn't even realize how close the jester stood by now nor did she notice the dagger in his hand, the jester surely had a way with words "poor Cicero will care for you, he will be most gentle and will never harm the sweet, little (y/n)..." he smiled widely
"How did you..." she muttered
"Shh... we will know, everything, tell each other secrets... all in good time, slowly..." Cicero smiled and gently dragged the dagger from her forehead to her neck, causing a surge of unknown emotions to travel across her mind....
