This was supposed to be in the last chapter, but it didn't post for some reason, so here's the last REAL paragraph of the last chapter. Then this chapter would make more sense.
I swallowed hard and smiled at the boy shakily. I nodded and Vic nodded back. I climbed into my bed and Vic joined me. As I kicked off my shoes, I noticed a pink sticky note attached to the pad of the foot. I leaned down and picked it up, Vic already snoring.
I quickly read it, confused at the context.
It was chicken-scratch, but I managed to decipher the message, still a little confused.
When you have questions, and you can't find the answers, remember to tear out the heart of the liars and reach each valve to find the truth of who you are and who you could have been.
I felt my eyebrows furrow in confusion and shoved it back in my shoe, hoping that when I woke up, the note would just be a part of a really messed up dream.
Chapter Nine
My eyes squinted open when I felt someone staring at me. I flinched back and felt arms tighten around me, pulling me closer. I had a minute to calm down, recognizing the face and realizing that I knew who was holding me from behind. Vic. Vic was sleeping in my bed because-last night.
I sighed and looked back at the person staring at me. Jordan.
"Who's in your bed?" Jordan teased. I only sent him a glare.
"I don't want to talk to you, because you're probably only in here because Oli knew I didn't want to talk to him."
Jordan silently watched me as I peeled Vic's arms from around my waist. He was still sleeping, which was good because I don't remember a time Vic was ever drunk, and he was so drunk last night, I was happy he had a hangover. He wouldn't have been normal if he didn't have a hangover.
I slid out of bed and rearranged the covers so Vic would stay undisturbed and I tried to walk past Jordan.
Jordan's steely grip fastened on my arm and he held me close to him, looking into my eyes with a serious expression. "I asked you: Who's in your bed?" Jordan hissed. My eyebrows shot up.
"Jordan..."
"Well, Lily? Who is it?" Jordan demanded. I felt my heart stop as he narrowed his eyes at me.
"No one. His name is Vic Fuentes. He works at my old school. God, Jordan, let go-"
"Did you have sex with him?" Jordan's teasing tone was back.
"No! He was drunk as hell, so I took him in and saved him from getting killed out there. Honestly, Jordan, I'm not a slut." I snapped at him, yanking my arm from his grip. Jordan only looked pleased with himself.
"Fine, fine. Your brother wants to see you downstairs."
"Well, I don't want to see my brother." I told him angrily. Jordan only shrugged.
"He said that you wouldn't want to see him." Jordan admitted. I didn't know what he meant by that, but I soon found out.
He lunged at me, wrapping his arms around my waist and picking me up by my midsection. He strategically placed my limbs in his grasp to my inconvenience so I had to struggle to do anything really, and he pulled me from my room-well, more like carried.
I almost screamed, but Jordan pressed my face to his lower stomach on his right side making everything muffled. I huffed and angrily let him carry me to wherever his stupid little heart desired.
I felt him walk down the stairs and finally he dropped me on the couch. I scowled at Jordan and was about to stand up when two sets of hands wrapped on my wrists holding me to the couch.
