"Shawn! Did you make pancakes?" Margot yelled from the top of the stairs. The smell of pancakes and bacon were lingering through the air as Shawn flipped a blueberry pancake.

"Yeah! Want some?" He yelled back with a chuckle. He laughed when he heard Margot squeal and run down the stairs. "Morning."

"Where's my sister?" Margot asked, pouring herself some orange juice. She stopped abruptly, staring at him. "You didn't murder her, did you?"

"Afraid not." He chuckled.

"Damn." She muttered, sitting on the counter. "Where is she?"

"She left about twenty minutes ago to get some ice cream. She should be back by now, though." Shawn said, checking his watch. Just then, Parker swung the front door open, walking to the kitchen.

"Hey, Mar. Did you sleep good?" Parker asked, ruffling her sister's hair with one hand as the other one held a carton of mint chocolate chip ice cream.

"Not great considering I could hear you two last night." Margot said. Parker and Shawn's faces went red as Margot laughed.

"I'm sorry you had to hear that." Parker said.

"Eh, don't worry about it." Margot said. "I'm used to it."

"What do you mean?" Shawn asked, glancing at Parker.

"Uh — Nothing." Margot said. "Thanks for breakfast." She mumbled before running upstairs.

"I'm gonna kill her." Parker muttered under her breath.

"What did she mean by that?" Shawn asked. Parker bit her lip and sat down.

"Well, before I met you, I kinda slept around." She said. "There were a lot of girls here. Pretty much every night."

"Oh." Shawn said, sitting beside her.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be. That was the past, and this is the present. I'm not gonna let your past define you, because the girl in front of my right now is the girl I want to spend my future with." Shawn said, taking her hand in his.

"You're amazing, Shawn. Anyone else would have run for the hills." She smiled.

"Those people are cowards." Shawn said. "You're too great of a girl." Parker replied by placing a swift kiss to his cheek, which he smiled at. "By the way, I absolutely adore Margot. She's a great kid."

"She really is." Parker said. "I love her to death."

"How long have you been her guardian?" He asked. "If it's not too personal of a question."

"No, its not." She smiled. "I've been in charge of her since our parents died, which was — wow — 4 years ago. Time flies, I guess."

"How did they die?"

"Plane crash." Parker chuckled, trying to keep herself from crying. "A fucking plane took them away from us. God, how screwed up is that?"

"I'm sorry, Park." Shawn said, rubbing her back gently.

"It's fine, I guess. There's nothing I can do to bring them back." She frowned.

"Well, you've done an amazing job raising her. She's so mature." Shawn said. "Most 15 year olds are moody and arrogant."

"Trust me, she is." Parker said. "But I'm also real with her. I tell it to her like it is, no lies. She's not a little kid, and she shouldn't be treated like one."

"You're gonna make a great mom someday, you know that?" Shawn questioned.

"Um — Shawn, I don't want kids." Parker said, tensing when Shawn pulled his hand away.

"Y-You don't?" He asked. Parker shook her head, and Shawn blew out a breath of air. "Okay."

"I should have told you sooner, I'm sorry." She said.

"No, no. Don't be sorry." He said, rubbing his hands together. "Listen, I think I need to think about this." He said. "For as long as I can remember, I've wanted a family filled with kids. I just — I need to think."

Shawn stood up, and Parker held back the urge to cry. She couldn't let him walk out; there was a chance he wouldn't come back.

"Shawn, please don't go." She said.

"I have to." Shawn mumbled, leaving the house before she could say another word.
