"This is the best I've ever done in a baking video!" Phil exclaims, grinning in excitement. Which is ironic because I can't bake for the life of me.
"Phil!" I gasp and fake yell at him. "You just jinxed it!"
He gasps too, as if we've actually screwed up the cake. "Oh no!"
And as if on cue, the oven starts beeping. Phil, who was holding the frosting tube(thingy), jumped and accidentally squirted frosting across the kitchen.
"Shoot!" Phil realized what he did and threw the frosting tube aside. I laugh at him, not being able to help it. "Oi, don't laugh at me, there's frosting in your hair." He informs me, laughing.
I feel my hair to find pink frosting tangled in it. "The frosting you squirted across the room." I tell him.
"Touché." He grabs a towel and runs some water on it. "Catch." He whips the towel at me and I duck.
The towel flys over my head and hits the wall with a thump. "I'm trying to not to get murdered today, thanks." I joke, standing back up.
"Ah, sorry Y/N," I then cut him off by throwing a closed bag of sprinkles at him.
"Catch." I tease, and he drops them, the bag bursting open and sprinkles sliding all across the floor.
Both Phil and I break into a fit a laughter. "Dang it!" I yell, still laughing.
"I think I jinxed us, Y/N." Phil informs me, a grin on his face.
"I think you did, Phil." I agree.
"I'll get a broom," Phil begins, but I stop him before he could leave the kitchen.
"Do you smell that?" I ask him, sniffing the air.
"Yeah..." Phil nods. "Is something... burning?"
We stare at each other for a good two seconds before simultaneously yelling, "The cake!"
We both run to the already-smoking oven and Phil pulls out the cake and places it on the counter while I try to wave away the smoke. But apparently I didn't do good enough of a good because the smoke alarm went off. "Oh no, oh no, oh no!"
"How do I turn it off?!" I yell over the noise.
"Here!" Phil uses the back end of the broom and starts beating the smoke alarm with it.
The loud beeping continues and I put my hand on Phils shoulder to stop him. "I don't think that's working!"
Just then, Dan comes charging down the stairs. "What the hell did you two do?!"
"It won't turn off!" Phil exclaims, yelling so Dan can hear him.
"Have you even tried to turn it off?!" Dan asks, grabbing a chair.
"Yeah!" I tell him. "The broom is useless!"
Dan stands on the chair below the smoke detector and presses a button that turns it off. "And apparently so are you two."
He gets off the chair and finally gets a chance to look around the kitchen. "Don't worry." Phil says before Dan gets a chance to. "The mess will be worth it in the end."
I playfully slap Phil's shoulder who just laughs. "What he means is, don't worry, we'll clean it."
Dan shakes his head, having to no words for us in that moment. "You two are never aloud to bake with each other ever again!" He yells, but there's laughing smirk on his face.
"Hey, it could've been worse." Phil argues.
"Yeah." I agree. "We could have actually burned down the building."
Dan laughs and looks back at the messy kitchen. "Are you almost done? I don't know if I can trust you two alone in here anymore."
"Don't worry." Phil says again. "All we have to do is frost the cake."
"The cake you burned?" Dan asks, raising his eyebrows.
"Yes, that would be the one." I nod. Dan agrees to let us finish the cake if we clean the kitchen up really fast afterwards, before finding his way back to his room.
Phil and I look at eachother and he begins to laugh lightly. "I think this is the most interesting video I have ever made."
I giggle, looking around the kitchen. "And it started off so well too!"
"I promise to never jinxe anything we do together again." Phil states.
"Agreed." I nod.
And as Phil makes his way over to the counter, he slips on a pile of sprinkles still on the floor. Luckily, he catches himself by grabbing onto the counter, but as he did so, he knocked over the bag of flour, getting it everywhere.
It flu into the air in a cloud, it was all over the floor and all over Phil's clothes. "Phil!" I laugh at him, trying to help him up.
"Oops." He laughs, standing up with my help.
"Are you okay?" It's a genuine question of concern, but I can't stop laughing.
"Yeah." He grins, our bodies inches away from each other as he's staring down at me. "But I don't think the flour is."
We laugh and both get on the floor in attempt to clean it up. "Hey, Y/N."
I look up and I'm blinded by a flour cloud. I wipe the flour from my eyes and smirk at Phil who's already laughing uncontrollably. "Alright. You asked for it, Lester." And I scooped up some flour from off the floor and threw it in his face.
We both stand up and start whipping flour at each other. "Eat flour, Y/N!"
"You!" And we laughed and ran around the kitchen, getting it even more messier than before.
I had turned around to grab some flour off the counter and Phil grabbed my waist and pulled me back. "No!"
I then tripped over my own foot, making Phil trip. I fell to the floor, lying on my back. Phil feel on top of me, and we were face to face, still laughing at each other. "Ah, Y/N! I'm sorry!" Phil laughs, pushing himself up so all his weight wasn't on me.
I laugh at him, shaking my head. "It's okay, Phil."
And I take his opportunity to look stare at him. There's flour all in his hair, it now looks more gray than black. There's splotches of flour on his face of his pale complexion, and his eyes shine an amazing bright blue. His hands are right next to my head on both sides so he doesn't fall on me, looking down at me.
I hadn't noticed how long I was staring, and I don't think he had noticed either, even though we were looking directly at each other. He then coughed awkwardly, glancing away for only a second. "You okay, Y/N?"
"Yeah." I nod, trying to keep eye contact and not have my eyes drift down to look at his lips. It was hard. Really hard. "I'm okay. You?"
At this point I had given up trying. I stared right at his lips. He nods back. "I'm good." And we stare at each other again.
And before my mind can process anything else, his lips are mine and my eyes are closed. His hand rests on my hip and my hand cupped his face.
I had to break away to catch my breath and process what just happened.
Phil Lester had just kissed me.
