I held her all night. She cried and sobbed in pain. She was angry and upset with her self and with the situation she was in. She constantly repeated "It happened again" while holding me tight ensuring that I didn't leave. I knew that she had a troubled past and I was incredibly disappointed with myself for not stopping another incident from happening. It pained me to know that she had suffered from something like this before and I couldn't do anything but console her at this moment. She was currently laying in my arms deep in sleep with dried up tears on her face. Even at her worst, she looked beautiful. She has been in so much pain, and I have failed to protect her like I promised like I said I would, but if it took my last breath I was going to ensure that Abraham was no longer a threat to Milan. I had walked around boasting about my security when the one time they were supposed to be there to ensure the safety of Milan they were gone. This will be the first and last time that something this irresponsible happens again on my part.
It was 9:00 am and Milan was still fast asleep. The nurses came in every hour to check on her wounds and administer medications and Aaron came in every so often to check on how she was doing. Every time he came in we would often talk about how we were going to handle the situation that was currently on our hands. Though I was happy to be with Milan I was furious. I would much rather be beating into Abrahams brain than sitting on this bed, but I know that Abraham was going to pay for hurting Milan and even bothering to threaten her.
"No!"
" Sam stop!"
" Sam your...Sam, you're hurting me"
" No, please...Sam"
" SAM STOP!"
" SAM...STOP!"
" Milan? Milan baby"
" No...You're hurting me" She cried
" Is she alright?" The nurse asked walking into the room
" She having a nightmare," I told her
" Milan, babe you're having a nightmare" I shook her awake
" Christian" She whispered
"I'm here baby" I say kissing her
She hugged me and cried softly still whispering how it had happened again. She was sobbing and shaking whispering the name of a man I assume had hurt her prior to this incident. My instinct was to ask who Sam was, and why his name brought her so much anguish as did the mention of Abrahams name. It was just another question I would have to ask Aaron when I got the chance. It was 9:30 am and all the doctors were making what Milan called morning rounds. She was still sleepy and crying as they made their way to our room.
" Victor will you?" Aaron spoke
" Milan Robinson-Moreno twenty-six was admitted two days ago at 8:00 pm and has suffered a subdural hematoma and a bruised rib cage. She was given morphine and painkillers to help ease the pain thirty minutes ago, and her incision on her head has been cleaned, she hyperventilated last night and because of that her stay will be extended four more days" Victor the resident said
" Victor examine Dr. Robinson," Aaron said flipping through the charts
The minute Aaron said that my eyes shot to the doctor who was making his way to Milan to examine her. It was almost humorous how he thought he was going to touch Milan with his bare hands, and to make it even better without my permission.
" Sir I...need to examine her body" He stuttered
" Put gloves on" I spoke sternly
" Yes...yes...sir" He stuttered again
