7- The game is on (part 1): the cowards, the devils and emotional talk

Start from the beginning

"What?"

"I SAID, I WONDER HOW (Y/N) AND JIHOON ARE DOING!"

"...yeah...I wonder how sh-they are doing..."

Little did the two boys know that there was actually nothing to worry about.
Jihoon and (Y/N)were probably the only pair that didn't face off any major problem.
Other than the creepy music and several sneaky attacks on Chan's part, the two quickly swept through the teachers' lounge and were already making their way to the library. Of course, their lack of reaction besides a few squeaks and surprised jumps wasn't very pleasant for Chan who grew frustrated by the minute, deciding in the end that perhaps it was just better if he gave up on the two short friends and just go help Jun.
Between seeing Jihoon and (Y/N) getting pissed or potentially witnessing Wonwoo getting scared, Lee Chan didn't have to ponder too much.

(Y/N) found herself enjoying the experience more than she had initially planned, as she and Jihoon  walked around the school, laughing at their friends' distant screams, talked about the school's supposedly haunted places and which ones should be on Buzzfeed Unsolved, and overall just mocked Seungcheol's very high pitched shouting that was coming from the bathroom.

Perhaps, walking around an empty school and judging people was indeed the best way to bond with somebody.  Jihoon had a personality which most people found hard to get close to, but nevertheless, the girl loved spending time with him.
However, she didn't expect him to ask her such question.

"Why do you even like Wonwoo?"

"What?"

"You don't need to act confused. Everybody knows you like him, it's pretty obvious...well, except for him...but I really don't understand why you like him, though. Sure, he's a nice person and all that, but, you know, he's...so...tactless, I guess? He just doesn't even seem to acknowledge your feelings or any other human's, and yet he writes love stories and stuff like that...how does that even work?" Jihoon ranted. By now, the two had stopped walking, the main goal of the night had been long forgotten.

"I don't understand why he writes those kinds of stories either, but you know, he likes them and it makes him happy so..."

"(Y/N), I didn't ask you why Wonwoo chose writing as a hobby.  I'm sorry if I seem rude but just...why do you like him? Despite the fact that he doesn't seem to feel the same way, why do you still like him as much as you do?"

(Y/N) pondered for a moment.
Why did she like Wonwoo?
Why did she stay by his side despite the fact that he didn't seem to care too much for her?
Should she just moved on and save herself from getting her heart broken, knowing fully well that Wonwoo would never like her the same?

"I just...I can't stop liking him. I mean, I like many things about him, not just 'cause of his face or the fact that he's tall enough to reach the top of the bookshelves unlike me...I guess, I just like the way he is...his personality is different and so more complex than meets the eye. He's not emotionless as most people paint as. He's just shy and needs to feel comfortable with you in order to be himself...And I guess I really want to be one of those lucky few who get to see that."

Once she finished her explanation, (Y/N) realised that she had actually never revealed that to anyone. Not even to Soonyoung, Seungkwan or Mingyu! And the fact that she had just dumped her truest and deepest feelings on Jihoon, made her blood furiously rush to her cheeks.
The embarrassment she was feeling at that moment was enough to make her want to crawl into a hole and stay there for the rest of her life.

Jihoon's reaction to her rant, however, was much different than she thought. Instead of mocking her or threatening to tell everything to Wonwoo, Jihoon simply nodded and offered her a small smile.

"Just try not to get hurt, okay?"

"Okay..."

Before any of them could say anything else, their meaningful conversation was suddenly cut short by a blood-curdling scream and a few other shouts coming from different directions.

Although (Y/N) and Jihoon had gotten distracted, the game was still on.

Jun still needed to scare Wonwoo.

Mingyu was still trying to fright Minghao and Seungkwan.

Jeonghan was out to get everyone.

And Chan just wanted to spook someone.

The night wasn't over just yet...
