The Elementalists: Deleted Content

Hello wattpad! I am still here!

Typically I'd post a thing like this in my status bar thing, but this is specifically for Fractured Soul and the like, so I'm going to put it here! (Also if you have not yet read the other sections of Deleted Content, I highly recommend cause there really is stuff that is not published from the Elementalist books in here!)

So, I keep saying it, but: college is super busy! Like, super busy. And I have a part time job so while I try to keep writing stuff in my free time (at work or otherwise), it's been pretty slow. I am still holding to keeping a chapter buffer between what I've written for Shattered Mind and what has been posted, and I do know what's happening now (my writing process does not like being linear or chronological lol), so if I can make it through next Wednesday I'll be golden to just sit and work on writing!

But more importantly, this post is regarding Fractured Soul. It's nothing bad! But regarding Fractured Soul:

I have never claimed that it was a perfect copy. I'm a human who honestly cannot word out loud half of the time, and when I type fast, I don't always catch all of my typos. So some of those are still present in everything I've posted.

Also, Fractured Soul is pretty old. It's been roughly five years since I officially started writing it, and I honestly haven't made many edits besides typo correction since. And I know for sure I've changed a lot in five years. I honestly think (besides my lack of a time turner) this is why Shattered Mind is taking so long to write, because there's a lot more thought going in to things than what was given to some spots of Fractured Soul.

So! Fractured Soul-hopefully by the end of summer-is going to get a revamp. The bones are still there, but I need to do some serious edits on it. Language edits, time edits, content edits. Edits. 

Since November (which I tried to make this my own personal NaNoWriMo challenge...it lasted for about a week or so-again, college is busy), I've been working offline on doing these edits. As of a few hours ago (I have a rather long gap between class and work on Thursday), these edits have taken me through chapter 5 of what has been published...but so far on the uber edits it actually ends up being chapter 2 with the prologue. So this isn't being published for y'alls viewing anytime soon. Maybe once I get to a new chapter 10 in the edits I can start figuring out the details of posting an edited version without taking away the original copy from here, cause it still amazes me even now that about fifty-three thousand people have read some part or all of my story, and that another 200 have left comments. It may not sound big compared to other works on this wonderful site, but when your hometown is roughly 300 and your university is roughly 32,000, it's a lot. 

At the same time this is happening, I may attempt to do recordings of each new rewritten chapter of FS, a la audiobook. I'm not very good at different voices, but again, that's why I'm saying this is an attempt. I have a recording of the new prologue (that I may actually post along with the new prologue) that needs a little bit of cleaning up that I can toy around with. It'll most likely be the next installment of this deleted content area.

With all of that being said, I really do need and appreciate the feedback you can give me. I never ask for votes or comments for next installments of stuff, and I am glad that even though I basically vanish for months at a time I can still log in and see that someone has added Fractured Soul to a reading list. So please, write me comments, tell me if I should consider changing things in the rewrite, if I should continue doing records or not, I do take what you say into consideration.

With luck, the prologue and an audio recording should be up if not next Thursday, then the Thursday after. Until then, please share your thoughts with me!!
