Notes before you go ahead and read:

If and when I post the revamp of Fractured Soul this part of Deleted Content will be removed. I will leave the shell here in case of any comments, but this is the rewritten prologue as it stands now.

The next addition to this book of deleted content will most likely be a feedback page. I'll let you know what edits specifically I wish to share with you currently, and it can be a place where you let me know what you think needs editing.

The audio is still a work in process.

The world was divided, the bridges and gulfs marked by magic.

For centuries, two countries had lived in peace, bonded by the magic that flowed through their lands and many of their subjects. To the north lay Ivadona, which had been ruled by an elementalist since its creation. Children born of magic were raised in a temple, watched over by the elementalist, until they were of the age to decide their own fate. To the south there was Rhydona. The lands were ruled by nobility, and the nobility were ruled over by the king and queen, descendants of the first families of Rhydona. Children born of magic were not sent to any temple, but were left with their friends and families to be taught as was seen fit. Neither country had reason to cause grief to the other, and so peace continued.

This peace was set to last for another lifetime and more, as a vision had shown the elementalist the fate of the one to succeed them. They were to lead Ivadona, and the world, and create a new age of peace and happiness. This news was shared with the world, to the land across the sea, to every town, city, and village, and to Rhydona in the south.

At the end of each season, Ivayan children were brought before elemental messengers to find the elemental children to be taught magic. It wasn't until the second summer after the vision had been proclaimed that the child was found. The news was once again announced to the world, and that was the last anyone would hear of the young elementalist until their succession. Long years passed, and the child elementalist grew, in size, spirit, and ability. By their seventeenth year, they had mastered all but one of the five elements.

But darkness loomed on the horizon.

In the intervening years, Rhydona's king and queen had amassed an army of elementals and non-elementals alike. Led by their children, the king and queen's army marched on the country to the north, destroying the land as they went. No one withstood the force. Not even the temple. Together the king's children overwhelmed the temple's occupants, the elementalist, and took the elementalist's successor.

When the elementalist awoke, they found their country and temple in ruins, the elementals scattered or captured. In their grief, a new vision came to them, one that was kept secret, to avoid history from repeating itself. In this vision, the new elementalist would return, and right the wrongs of their world.
