Carl X Reader (Completed)

    "You guys were a great couple," said Carl. I gently pushed his arms off of me.

   "Couple?"

   "You were dating, right?" I chuckled suddenly. This must've been why Carl was so hesitant to be by me or say anything to me.

   "We weren't dating. We were almost like brother and sister."

   "Man, I wished I'd known this sooner," he mumbled under his breath. I looked at him curiously, but he just pretended like nothing happened. My door opened suddenly. Daryl walked in. He immediately glared at Carl who was sitting pretty close to me. Carl got the message and scooted over.

   "How ya feelin', (Y/N)?"

   "I'm alright, still a little sore, though," I answered.

   "Denise says that you need to rest up for a couple of days before you should try to walk again," Daryl told me. I frowned.

   "Fine, but someone's going to have to take care of my cats and my fish."

   "I'll let Rick know and he'll find someone to do that. Oh, and Carl, I need to talk with you...out here," Daryl gestured to the hallway. I felt Carl tense up a little beside me.

   "Um, ok." They both left the room and I was alone again. I closed my eyes and decided to take a nap.

**A couple of days later**

   I was woken up by the door opening. Rick popped his head in.

   "Hey, um, just thought I'd let you know that Maggie is having pregnancy problems, so we are taking her to Hilltop."

   "Can I come? I can walk."

   "You know that you can't walk very well. Besides, you need to be here to practice with your leg."

   "Is Carl going?"

   "Yeah."

   "There's no way I can talk you into letting me go, is there?" I asked.

   "Nope."

   "Fine. Good luck," I mumbled. He walked out and left the house. I got up slowly. If I can't talk myself into going, then I'll just go myself.
