michael stared down at the bloody angel blade in hand, his hands and clothes covered in the blood of the demons he had just slaughtered and smited.

the demon blood wasn't what the problem was, it was the angel blood on his hands.

his best friend, his reason to live, laying dead on the ground before him. an angel blade to the chest and a burst of light, then castiel had hit the floor, michael had gotten him killed like a fucking moron.

the angel had let his guard down for two seconds and one of the demons had gotten a hold of his blade as it fell out of his hand, sneaking up behind castiel and plunging the blade in his back, killing him.

michael watched the light burst from him before he hit the ground, the younger angel screaming and crying as he ran over to his best friend, taking the angel blade from the demon and smiting the demon immediately, going on a damn grief-filled rampage and killing every demon and creature that came towards him, getting blood all over himself.

after the killing spree was over, michael had dropped to his knees and put his hands on castiel's wounds, trying desperately to heal him but he knew it wasn't gonna work since his friend was already dead.

the angel sobbed and screamed, blood still soaking into his hands before he let castiel's corpse go, the body hitting the ground and michael stared at his blood soaked hands.

he was a fucking failure and disappointment to all his brothers and sisters, to castiel, to himself.

castiel was dead because of him, he was a fucking failure and deserved nothing but an angel blade to the heart.

michael held the small glass vile of ashes in his hands, having collected it from the remains after he had burned castiel's corpse.

he had worn it around his neck, like a person would wear a locket that their partner gave them, except the necklace he wore had a much sadder reason behind it.

it reminded him of when an angel has their grace taken away, its kept in a small glass vile and carried around another angel's neck usually, it glowing a blue-ish white color.

except this glass vile didn't glow, it was just dark ashes that made the glass vile dirty on the inside, he would rather castiel's grace be held in the vile than his damn ashes.

michael looked around the park he was in, seeing all the children screaming in joy and playing on the playground, parents keeping a close eye on their kids.

the pale angel smiled at the sounds, castiel had always loved children, well he loved all humans. he loved going to parks and just relaxing as he heard children laughing and enjoying themselves.

it always made cas happy, but now he can't ever experience that feeling again.

michael blinked back tears at that thought, knowing it was his fault that castiel couldn't have that feeling anymore, the sudden wave of emotion causing the angel to leave from the playground and run far away from the children, not using his wings because he didn't feel that he deserved to use them.

only angels that you can trust and depend on should use their wings, he wasn't one of those angels.

michael fell to the ground as he reached the top of some hill, his legs tired from climbing it too fast, the angel leaning against the tall tree and letting his tears flow, taking out his angel blade and starting to stab at the ground in anger.
